Navigation Screen Night Mode?

Recently took delivery of my new 17 ORP. First vehicle that I have owned with a built in navigation system. Went for a drive this evening and when driving with the map on the screen it's pretty bright. I've looked through the manual but I didn't see anything to indicate there is a "night mode"?

Thank you,

JDG

Adjust the dimming feature to the left of steering wheel.

'Night Mode' should come on when headlights turn on, which you have to do manually in the 4R.

It doesn't. Is there anything I need to do to activate it?

I guess I misunderstood your statement that night mode would come on when I turned on my lights.

It's a dial left of the wheel, screen backgrounf will be black. Makes a huge difference!

Night mode comes on when headlights turn on. If your dimmer switch is clicked all the way up it will prevent night mode for your gauges, and navigation screen.

Sorry to ask, but is there a way for the navigation to stay out of night mode when my headlights are on, without having the wheel all the way up?
I like having my dash lights dimmed at night, but I find the backlighting on the navigation screen to be too dark for my preferences.

I assume it is now different with the Entune interface, but my 2011 Nav has a night mode I can switch it into. I believe it's in the display settings for me, I use it occasionally, I can also turn off the display completely when driving late and trying to get my kids to sleep. Could check the manual to see if any of this is still in the menus somewhere for you.

I have this exact same issue EXCEPT adjusting the "light brightness wheel" to the left of the steering wheel has no effect. I feel like an idiot but I can 100% guarantee that the click wheel is not all the way up. I want to say that the first week I had the vehicle, night mode worked. Now, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it to switch. I've looked in the manual and the secondary Entune system manual but haven't found anything. All the solutions I've found here point to the click wheel. I'm also in a 2017 TRD Premium. Any suggestions?
