After shopping for another 4Runner (this will be my 3rd 5th gen) and putting a deposit down on one this weekend I’ll give you my 0.02$.

The price difference between the TRD Pro and TRD ORP is significant considering what you really get for the money. The Pro gets a decent, but arguably overpriced, suspension and wheel setup, a few cosmetic changes, and a roof rack. All for approximately $10k more than the ORP. You can do a ton of aftermarket parts that are vastly superior to the factory PRO offerings.

Some will argue that the Pro has better resale value but I’ve seen the opposite as dealers typically get more for the Pro. I’ve seen ORP have more discounts off the front end so in the end the work out to a far better deal.

In the end I’m getting a ORP over the Pro because the price difference to me means I can pick the very best parts, customize it to what I want/need, and still have money left.

As for the power issue, it’s damn sure no V8 and never will be. Your saving grace is the GT350. every time you starting getting annoyed about the 4Runner’s lack of power, get in the 350 for a few minutes to scratch that itch. Unfortunately I sold my 1LE this summer so I don’t have that option currently but planning on picking up a GTR in the next year or two to scratch that itch.

I would save the markup, and put the money into the ORP non-KDSS for a higher quality suspension setup. With those savings, you could do the TRD + Nitto setup with a high quality coil over setup and have a far superior suspension setup for less.

-TRD wheels ~$700
-275/70R17 ~$900
-Lift
1. King $3500
2. OME $2800
3. Icon $2600

But, that's just my opinion.
Thanks, much appreciated. But when you break down that price of those options, I would actually come out ahead with the TRD Pro (with $2500 discount) over the TRD ORP with a $4-5K discount.
And I would like to keep as much of it stock as possible, mostly for resale.

Update.......

Drove a 2019 TRD Pro that was sitting on the lot last Thursday, to at least give me an idea of how I would like the '20.

I really liked it-- a lot. Of course, coming from the Ram 1500 with a Hemi V8 will take some getting used to, and as such, I'm leaning towards getting the sprint booster after reading a few threads.
I will say that the power delivery of the 4.0 in the 4runner vs the 3.5 in the Tacoma seems better.

The Fox shocks set up is fantastic on lousy roads and I honestly didn't miss having KDSS as much as I thought I would.

Now I'm just working on a deal with the '20 AG and a final price for the truck.
