Goodyear Duratracs winter and KO2 for summer?
So i have 2 sets of rims for my 4R and currently have the stock Dueler HT's that are not so good even in dry.
So i was thinking of putting Goodyear Duratracs on one set of rims for the winter this year. Then once the HT ware out ill keep using the Duratracs and put KO2's on for most of my off roading.
Would i be going in the right direction with the Duratracs for a very versatile tire that's good in winter and handles well in rain?
I'm basically looking for an AT that's awesome in rain/wet but also great in snow that can handle some off road till i kill these HT's.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Either of those should work year round. If you’re dead set on 2 sets of tires, either get some mud tires for off-roading, or some actual winter tires for winter. No point using different severe weather rated AT’s, they are too close to the same thing.

Those two tires are very similar A/T tires. I would think a dedicated winter tire would be better than the Duratrac. Duratracs are good in the snow compared to other A/T tires but not compared to a winter tire.

My KO2s did pretty good two winters ago here in Boston with lots of driving to upstate NY and Burlington, VT for work. Then I went with the Mud Terrains and a dedicated winter. The Nokian SUV 9s. Night and Day between the KO2s. Put Blizzak studded on the Wife's Q7 and that thing is near unstoppable on anything under 14" of snow. There is a big difference in a winter rating, and an actual snow tire.

Thanks, i was thinking they may be too similar.
My favorite winter tire for my cars are the Vredestein snow track 5's but they don't have Truck sizes so the Nokian SUV 9s would be my next choice, i am not a fan of the Blizzaks, they sucked om my Expedition.
Maybe ill do the Duratracs for the snow and off road this year to see how they do then when my HT's go I can decide to ether do Nokian snows or get a more mud tire.
Would you say the Duratracs would be the best all around AT tire for wet roads, off road & snow?

Duratracs were great when they were new, but they're not so great on wet roads once they wear down a bit. However, still not bad in the snow if it's dry. I'd look to another tire for winter use if it were me.

I have run the KO2's in the mountains of CO year around and they are great snow tires. I never had any issues with them in the snow and ice. I have heard the Duratracs are great as well. I think you could run either one year around.

I'm almost thinking screw it and just get KO2's since this set would be used for off road and winter/snow. Just herd a lot of good things about the Duratracs like better snow/wet and quieter.

Cannot comment on the Duratecs. However, Had KO2 for 25K. Excellent in Snow and off road. No issues on the road until 20K. Literally overnight, wet traction in rain became dangerous. I will not run them again.

I've run 6 sets of Duratracs on 5 different Toyota SUV's over the years, I have nothing but good things to say about them. It can be winter conditions 6 months of the year here (snowed 8" over the last 2 days for example, WAY early!), and they do great in the snow and ice, I like to keep them aired down to 32-34psi in the winter for a bit better bite on the real slick stuff. I rotate them every 10K kms or so, and got 90k kms out of the last set on our GX470, then sold what was left for $500, tough to beat that!
That being said, KO2's are very similarly rated, as are Falken Wildpeaks, and a few other AT's that carry the "severe winter" rating, so there are other options as well. I don't think KO2's are better at anything than Duratracs, but that's just my opinion.
In Canada, Canadian Tire has Duratracs on 4 tires for the price of 3 every 3rd week or so, so at 25% off it's really tough to beat the value.

With the amount Duratracs you have used over the years would you say they have really good wet traction? Wet stopping good?
These HT's are bad and i am used to my Mazda 3 with Pilot Super Sports which rock on wet roads. lol

For the wet and winter maybe look at Cooper AT3-4s or the ATW, both great tires.. and will perform awesome in snow,

The only time I've had an issue with traction on wet pavement was when I was playing with the tire pressures in the summer and had them up 38-40psi, they slid further than I expected on a low speed panic stop. At 36psi they are very good in the wet.

Duratracs quiet? I think I'd look at something else if you want quiet. It's probably the loudest A/T I've run. Started ok but got louder every mile till I gave up On them at 30,000 miles

Well quiet relative to KO2s and some others. I don't mind a little bit of noise, as long as a little bit of music cancels it out.
On my old car I would change out my PSS tires every 30k anyway so I won't mind doing it with the R4 if need be, but that would suck. Lol
Doesn't sound like you would get them again.
