It's off the shelf oil and there is no proof it is Mobil One. The specification is the viscosity. It's like when BMW and other brand recommend Mobil One. It isn't because it is specifically formulated for their engines, it's because they sent the auto maker a fat check.

Toyota oil is made by Mobil, it is not M1 and I never said it was. Toyota oil is not off the shelf oil, it is made to Toyota spec, look at the spec sheets on Toyota oil. Find me another 0-20 that matches this same spec and we'll talk. Not all 0-20 is created equally and there are absolutely different quality oils out there. M1 is by no means the best oil on the market.

Where's the proof of this special blend specifically for Toyota?

Clearly you didn't read through this thread very much. There is a link to the data sheet on Toyota oil on the very first page, post 14. Take a look at the Moly and zinc levels in the Toyota spec oil. Do your own research, since I am not going to do it for you, and look at the spec on other oils on the market. Find me another oil that has an additive package as aggressive as what is use in Toyota spec oil. This is why our engines run so much quieter and smoother when using Toyota 0W20

You could have just posted it again. So you're saying you didn't do research?
I run Amsoil OE series oil and noticed no change in engine sound.

Here's a link I found on the same site. I'm not doing the research though. http://www.pqiamerica.com/ATF%20Feb%...lts/Amsoil.htm

Stop being lazy. You asked for proof of the "special Toyota oil" and that proof was right in front of your face had you actually read through this thread before posting. Amsoil makes great products, I'm sure you will do just fine with it. Post up a data sheet on it so we can compare it to Toyota oil as well as some others. So far the additive package in Toyota oil blows away every other oil I have looked at.

Amsoil's Z Rod oil contains more phosphorous and zinc than the Toyota stuff. No 0W20 option though. 1320 ppm of P and 1440 ppm of Zn.

That's like watching CNN and believing the mindless bullshit the spew. The link you posted is not the same weight oil and it falls way short when compared to Toyota spec oil, like incredibly short on every level, for twice the price which is hilarious. See below for a link to the Amsoil OE 0W20 Toyota crushes it as it does every other 0W20 that I have researched. This is the last link I will post for you. You will do your own research or you won't and you'll continue to be uneducated on this subject, not my problem. In reality you'll likely be just fine with any oil you run but I will stick with the oil that clearly and significantly outperforms the others.
AMSOIL Synthetic OE Sythetic SAE 0W-20 API SN/ILSAC GF-5/dexos1

So more useless info about oil that is significantly more expensive than the Toyota 0W20 and is not applicable to this conversation. Moly is one of the key things you need to look at when comparing oils. I will not entertain you anymore, you've wasted enough of my time and clearly don't care to actually learn anything at all.
Have a good night.

Here is a snap shot of the Toyota 0w20 tested last year 1-24-2018 for reference. The additive package is Loaded and is far superior than any off the shelve oil available at the parts store. There are some good off the shelf oil that will work perfectly fine; Quaker State Ultimate Durability (QSUD) is one ive seen some testing on and it performed very good, respectable Moly numbers also. That Amsoil Signature Series info posted above on PQIA is the older formula, they changed it not to long ago to meet the new SN PLUS requirements. They dropped the Calcium ppm and added Magnesium ppm. The new formula tested Very high on the Rat 540 oil testing site, along with the Toyota 0w20. Amsoil Signature Series and Toyota both get my vote, both are awesome.

You only mentioned P and Zn, not moly or price. I'm guessing that the Z rod series of oil is not produced in 0W20 because modern engines don't need that much Zn and P. It is recommended for engines with flat tappet cams to reduce wear.
K. Nighty night.

I didn't mention Moly? Really? Only about 5-6 times lol. DO yourself and everyone else a favor and READ through this thread. If our engines didn't benefit from the Moly and Zinc, Toyota wouldn't have formulated their oil with such incredibly high levels of both. Again, this is why the 4.0 runs so much quieter when using Toyota spec oil.

Apparently you had more time for me to waste. Maybe like having an excess of P and Zn

That's good but you left out the part about conditioning the seats and dash with pizza grease
