For those that don't know, the alignment is set in place via two cam bolts on each side of the car. These bolts are held in place by pressed sheet steel tabs that are adequate for driving on pavement, but once you start wheeling hard you are very likely to bend them.
The solution to this is replacing the stock tabs with
significantly stronger welded steel tabs. Unfortuntly, getting the old tabs off is a total PITA and usually requires drilling out all of the spot welds (24 in total) which are mostly in awkward positions. I found a MUCH easier way to do this by using and air hammer to peel away the tab initially and then use an angle grinder with a cut off disk to cut the first spot weld. After that the air hammer is usually powerful enough to pop the tab the rest of the way off. If not then you can cut any remaining spot welds with the angle grinder again. Using this method I was able to get each tab off in about 2 min each instead of the 20 min it was taking when using a drill.
