I've said this before in other threads - I really like having it although I rarely use it. It's basically a get out of jail free card for sand. Doesn't do much in snow though. It's fantastic for trail fatigue on long trail days in very rough terrain that ends up being a lot of constant driving input with an automatic transmission (an MT is probably easier in those situations if you have proper gearing). And most of all - I love that I can just put my wife behind the wheel and it's point and shoot. It really is ideal for that more than anything.

It's not perfect for every situation and I've rarely found it to get me through an obstacle I can't otherwise navigate (there's one particular spot it's been magic in the rocks, but it's rare), but it's a useful feature. It's very easy to add to the GX460 for relatively low cost. It's unfortunate it's not as easy as just swapping in the ECU module in the 4Runner. And IMO it should come standard on all models. It's software that would cost very little to add to any version. The same goes for the Tacoma. You have to option quite a ways up the model line to get it. And it should just be standard on all of them.

Another 460 CC option can now be done for probably less than $20 using some custom wiring and basic switches.

I added Crawl Control using simple switches - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
