Glove Box Door - 2011 4Runner SR5

Hello, does anyone have instructions on how to remove the glove box door on a 2011 4Runner. Just need to remove the door. Not the whole box.

A video link is preferred if one exists

Question Remove glove box door

Bumping this thread ... I'd like to remove mine, too, in order to try and fix a problem with the door not being able to remain closed (the tabs on each end of the door that hold the door in place are stuck in the "in" position, so they don't "catch" in place when attempting to close the door).

Any help would be appreciated!

David

Found it! This thread is getting to the 4WD Computer, but have to remove the glove box to get to it. Hope this helps.

Post #8 shows how to remove the glove compartment.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong with the latches, mine do the same thing. Have to jam a piece of paper in between the door and dash to keep it closed.

Hi BigEddie,
I wound up simply spraying it with a silicone lubricant spray and letting it sit overnight. Eventually the tabs became unstuck, and it's been working fine now for several months.

Good luck!

I squirted enough silicone lubricant in there to ease an elephant orgy and my tabs still don't work.

Anyone have any other bright ideas for getting the glove box lid to stop flopping out?

Looks like the lid itself runs about $260. Too costly to replace, and it's not clear to me how one even removes the lid from the entire box assembly.

Try getting a used glove box from Ebay or a LKQ registered junk yard. LKQ yards can do a national search for used parts.
