Can you provide the link for the bolts to bolt the rack to the truck? I'm guessing some 3/8" inch bolts but how long? 1.25"?
I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm doing this for a 4Gen 4Runner.

Actually I was searching for the DIY idea for the very same reason for the low cost roof rack for LX470. This is exact what I'm dreaming.

Or you can do aluminum angle:

Would make it structurally much stronger, only costs 35 with free pick up. Size would allow the extruded aluminum cross bars to sit flush with it
