Just spend an afternoon and run 8 or 10ga from the battery, with a circuit breaker, to a blue seas 12v outlet and ground it to the body. Total cost about $40.

Your fridge will run better and longer.

You guys are missing out on a nice little mod. An OEM style fridge switch in your dash, fuse and relay under the hood, mount your 12v outlet in one of the trays in the back that pop out. Wire routing is pretty easy along the firewall, through the firewall on the passenger side. Kick plates pop straight up and your practically there.

My Engle has never had a problem running off of the rear 12V plug. I did some digging and it looks like the ARB can draw about 2x the amps over the Engle.

Well, my dometic comes on and turns off when it sees/doesn't see power at the outlet I installed. So its nice to power it off when it sits during the week. The ability to control the fridge power from the drivers seat should be an easy sell...But that's me, what do you do? Pop your hatch and unplug your fridge or just use the power switch on the fridge itself?

Same here my Snowmaster wouldn't stay running on the rear outlet so I just hard wired it.

After a year and a half of using a Goal Zero Yeti to run the fridge and having the Yeti recharge off of the rear a/c outlet when driving I just bit the bullet and ran the ARB wiring kit from the battery (always on power source) to the back making a new outlet. Well worth it IMO.

Right on! The ARB 10900027 ARB Fridge Freezer Wiring Kit and ARB Threaded Socket is the only way to go. A cigarette lighter plug in a cigarette lighter socket can vibrate loose.

The fused 10-gauge wire included in the kit is more than adequate to carry the current and an ARB Threaded Plug in an ARB Threaded Socket will never vibrate loose.

This ARB plug is a match for the ARB Threaded Socket.
ARB 10910076 Power Cord Cable for ARB Fridge Freezers DC 12V

Also be sure to tie down your fridge securely and safely with front and rear ratchet tie downs.

A cargo cover will keep the sun from heating up your fridge.
