Lock N Roll or Max Coupler

I have an off road camper and looking to change out the hitch. I am trying to decide on a Max Coupler or a Lock N Roll. Anyone have suggestions for one over the other? I am able to find the Lock N Roll for sale at Amazon and several other places but the Max Coupler is hard to find.

I used both on my AT Horizon trailer. I found that the Max Coupler was less likely to bind in tighter backing up and generally had less slack.....just fewer parts.

That being said, getting the pin in place on the Max can sometimes be a challenge especially if your trailer is on rocky terrain and hard to move by hand...I ended up putting a larger pneumatic tire on my drop leg and that took care of it. Also helps if you have a backup camera for those solo trips.

atoverland.com will fix you up with either one. I’d buy the Max hands down.

I went with pintle  cheap. easy. no maintenance. Honestly a regular ball mount was fine for me though but i was worried it'd pop off and roll down a hill lol. Even tho i have safety chains.

I had a pintle on mine as well. I was worried at first that I would have issues, but was pleasantly surprised by how well it tracked. I found no reason to change it out. They key is having the pintle and lunette sized appropriately for each other. That being said if I did change it out I would have gone Max Coupler. Overall from everything I researched it has less issues although there are pluses and minuses to every setup.

yea true, there's tons of info out there on expo portal too. from guys who do way more sh1t with their trailers. my homemade trailer on 33's has more ground clearance than the toyota ever could have, and it goes on forest service roads

Interesting observation although I have not had any binding issues backing up nor issues with slack. Mine is as tight as when I installed it. (Lock-n-Roll)
