Is it normal behavior to not see the Air Conditioning light illuminate when selecting windshield defrost with manual climate controls?
Noticed the yesterday in varying outside air temperature ranges from 30 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit that the light was not illuminating and I was sure that I have seen the A/C come on automatically to remove moisture as similar to other vehicles I have owned.
I can manually push the button to turn the A/C.
I am not sure if there is logic built in that will turn the A/C on with the windshield defrost but not activate the light.

In my '07, my climate controls behave in exactly that manner. Upon selecting front defrost, the A/C kicks in (you can feel it and see the rpms go up slightly) all the while with the manual A/C light off. I think it is indeed incorporated for the fastest method to clear windows, since dry air is needed.
