I didn't buy the TRDP for performance, I wanted a Pro for the Army Green. I didn't want my daily driver making noise, that's what my straight piped C7 Z06 is for.
So your tailpipe is straight out not behind rear wheel, correct? I had a 17 pro and w rear window down I would get a serious exhaust smell. Was hoping side exit on my 20 AG would fix that, no? Can you post part numbers of parts you purchased or did you just buy a 19 Pro muffler and tip?

I never smelled anything with my side exit TRDP exhaust. I just traded a fellow forum member with a brand new non-TRDP exhaust (can't remember which trim level he had. ORP I think) because I couldn't stand the sound of mine.

So yes, now my current exhaust on my 2020 TRDP is now rear exit. I do enjoy driving with the rear window down when its nice, so if I end up smelling anything, i'll just have it turned out the side or maybe just cut it off near the rear axle

Question, is it possible they tune a pro different to have the trd exhaust sound different? Had this pro 3 days now and the exhaust is no where near as loud as the blot on trd exhaust on my 19 orp. Had it at 2800rpm cruising on the highway tonight and still barley nothing! on the 19 it would get loud around 2200 rpm

You have the 2020 Pro? And you’re saying it’s quiet? Everyone is all over the place on this issue

Yes, the pro trd exhaust is probably 30-40% quietor than the trd exhaust I bolted on the 19. Maybe they are supplied from different vendors?

Yeah just interesting because some people say it’s too loud, some say it’s not loud enough...and funny enough, I’ve test driven multiple pros and to me they all sounded a little different

I agree everyone is all over the map. The new 4runner just came out. I am a little sus about the early negative reviews.

I traded my 2020 TRD exhaust with a forum member for a non TRD exhaust. Let me be clear though about one thing. It's not that its too loud... I just think the tone sounds like garbage and is annoying!

Now thats clearly a personal opinion. As i've stated before, theres very few V6's that sound good with a "performance" exhaust. The TRD exhaust sounds like V6 Camaro or Mustang which is TERRIBLE.

Just my opinion. I’m leaving it on till I get a couple of thousands of miles on before changing it. That’s if I change it. Been thru changing mods in my vehicles and sometimes you kinda wish you would have left alone. Same with the Pro rack. I have my other black rails I bought but giving it sometime to think things over.

Should it stop someone from buying? I’m stuck between Pro and ORP w kdss, not sure what to do because of exhaust...seems dumb but it’s true lol

I suppose it depends on what you plan to do with your truck. I bought the Pro because I wanted the Army Green, not because of the exhaust.

Its my daily driver, and I do most of my driving in the hills of Tennessee so the exhaust tone and drone is very annoying because it's constantly unshifting and downshifting to find the most efficient gear. But the guy that I traded lives in Florida where its mostly flat where he lives and he's enjoying it. I'd suggest driving one with the exhaust. Some people say they get better after you put some miles on them, but I had mine on for about 3000 miles and it never got any better.

It is also a daily driver for me...I live in New Jersey and there is plenty of elevation change where I live. I drove it but mostly in flat areas and while I didn’t love the sound I’m not sure I hated it...but I’d probably prefer not having it. Just torn between this and ORP w/kdss...

I've never driven one with KDSS and honestly don't know a whole lot about it. So I unfortunately can't be much help in that area.

Just an update about my S. Talked with Borla and will be getting just the Touring muffler. Hopefully it works out, then I can sell the S.
