I don't believe so, I think it is for units like the T9 to add on car play.

There is a company that makes an add on for the factory kit but its much more expensive. Beat-Sonic Apple Carplay and Android Auto for 2014-2019 Toyota models with Entune 2.0 and Entune 2.5

I do not think that dongle works with the factory head unit as it indicates "Android Head Unit". It is likely intended to be used with aftermarket Android head units.

There is an option though to utilize an aftermarket Carplay system with the stock head unit. See page 12 of the thread linked below. One member has purchased this and installed as well as provided pics and review of it.

OK, I figured it would probably not work with the factory head unit. I will have to wait until the next truck I guess...

Yeah, the dongle is for their T8/T9. I sent my POC there a message asking them to further clarify that in the description so no one accidentally purchases one thinking it'll work for the OEM unit.

Dongle only works with android-based head units.
