The end of the never ending squeak!

With Covid time being a thing now, I finally went to work trying to kill this never ending squeak that seemed to be coming from the mid-rear of my truck, and had been going on for months. I read the threads about squeaks, brought out some lithium grease, and set out to find out where the hell it was coming from.

I greased everything; if it was rubber, it was greased. I even greased the inside of the stock shocks after hitting everything and nothing fixing it. After greasing, rocking, squeaking, greasing, rocking, squeaking, nothing was fixing it.

After getting frustrated that after hitting ever conceivable part that I thought it could be, I was sliding out from under the truck, when I saw it, the rusty hanger holding up what I think is a brake line? Hit it on both sides, end of the squeak! I think it's gonna need something more, maybe some new rubber around the line? or some padding on the hanger? Gonna try that out later, but for now, I'm satisfied.

So moral of the story is, don't neglect the little things!

I did this. I didn't hear it much unless I was offroad, driving slowly on forest roads with the window down. I took my bigger channel-locks and bent the brackets on both sides of the vehicle. They seem to be pointing down toward the front, and I made them level. No idea why they are that way. It's just a bracket for the brake cable... so now they're level. Can't say I really tested to see if it went away yet, but I think I read about this somewhere and I went ahead and bent them the last time I changed my oil.
