....... been struggling with this for a couple of weeks:
Love my AG TRD pro but feel it needs a wider stance. Simple fix right ? Maybe just put in some 1.25” spydertrex spacers and call it a day.
Well...... I also think I want bigger tires. Hence, I talked to Jason Burtman, who was very helpful, and who recommended his 2/1 lift, which apparently won’t really affect the stock suspension, nor the ride quality.
That would allow me to go up to Nitto Ridge grapplers at 285/70/17.
The problem is that the roof basket adds several inches and may impede clearance getting in and out of parking garages.
When you look at the pro from the back, it doesn’t look like it really needs a lift. Instead it looks like it sits at too narrow of a stance —something wider tired and wheel spacers would solve (although the front could use another 1/2-1”)
I’m not sure I want to take off the stock roof basket and replace it with something lower profile. I don’t like the weight it adds (MPG sap) but I like the look, plus I don’t want to take too much away from the stock set up.
Anyone know if LT falken AT3’s at 275/70/17 will rub with 1.25 spacers if I DONT do a lift?
I know the front fender panels are already pushed forward at the port on PRO’s but the issue will likely be at the back of the front fender.
Jason also mentioned that anything less than a 2” lift up front will result in rub with 285’s and wheel spacers.
The other question is this: Are there any reports of premature wear and tear on the stock PRO suspension and/or UCA’s after doing this 2/1 lift ?
My Pro will see a lot of highway miles and I would like to keep the ride as close to stock as possible.
Here’s a pic from behind:
