Rooftop tent question

Can you put a rooftop tent on a 3/4 roof rack ? I tried to do some research but didn’t find anything. If so some pics would be nice . Thanks

It would depend on the tent.

Some of the hardshell tents take nearly the length of the roof. Most soft tents fold out to the side and need a bit less than 3/4 of roof.

Id say yes for most soft tents.

My vote is yes! My Ayer Sky measures 42x48 in terms of the platform, and the rails are ~3ft apart (I think). Do it!

Finally bit the bullet and purchased the LFD 3/4 rack. Looking to see what others use for RTT as well.

CVT Mt. Rainier on a 3/4 Frontrunner. I had about 12” of front overhanging but worked fine for our family of 4. The only size I wouldn’t do would be a CVT Mt. Denali....anything 72” or less in width would work. If you do plan on Frontrunner I would highly recommend the quick release mounts...we’ll worth the cost IMO.
