Having both bolts in and removing them together will allow the retaining clip to stay in place. Also keep in mind there’s lock-tire on the bolts so it will get tough at times to turn.

2. Keep in mind order in which the washers go in. From bottom up.

Foam washer - adhere to the bottom of rack
Composite washer - top of rack

3. Metal clips - you’ll need to get the metal clips which sit on roof and between the white plastic tubes separately. They are not part of the instal kit. Let me find the part numbers and post it here later.
Awesome thanks!

So it would go
-metal clips
-foam washer
-rack
-composite washer
-then torx bolt

Strange how can servers go down with no back up? That’s unfortunate if 15yrs of data lost. Good to hear you still got the m3. Did you get another Bmw since ? Good to see you here as well :-)

Did you purchase these items off the list from a dealer or 3rd party?
Thanks, Grant

Where did you relocate the back up sensors, or did you just get rid of them?

Hi,

So I really like what you did with your limited 4Runner but this is far outside my ability to do on my own. I like the interior features of the limited but the exterior features of the SR5 and TRD Off Road (like many other people out there).

I'm thinking of buying a Limited 4Runner used, so if I took it to a reputable and researched body shop and then showed them this thread would they be able to replicate your work? From reviewing the thread it appears the front sensors are the biggest issues and/or gotcha's in doing this.

Thanks!

Yes any body shop can do what I did. Limited to TRD conversion is all plug and play. I’m attaching my latest spreadsheet. It will make things easier for anyone looking into this conversion. Cheapest it so get the parts used if you can :-)
