I have the same problem with the orange indicator light on the AC light being out. Because this post shows up in any Google search related to this I figured I'd share what I've learned.

This style of AC controller isn't that common, 2016 +/- a year or two.

I removed and fully disassembled this assembly yesterday. There is no bulb, it is a led soldered to a circuit board. This lines up with another thread talking about upgrading to leds and that this is a soldered led. While I might be able to solder a new led in, this is outside of my DIY skill set. Also it was in a tricky location recessed being the AC button.

Going through Toyota parts this assembly is only sold as a unit, no parts within it. It sells for about $600. Searching ebay I find the assemblies from junked 4Runners are going for $125. I appreciate the ebayers including the picture of 4he crashes 4Runnwr in the listing.

So yeah I'm spending $125 to repair the little orange indicator light.

I post this in the hopes that someone can tell me how wrong I am and someone else is pointed to an cheaper solution.

Light will not turn off on ac knob. Did you ever find out what the problem was

[My light on my ac on 5th generation 4runner will not turn off either. Did anyone find out what problem may be.

QUOTE=JimPy;3649382]New owner here, 2016 5th Gen. My AC knob light stays on, won't turn off when I push the button. AC works fine, cool air no problem. But shouldn't the light on the knob turn off when I push the button? So just normal , uncooled air will blow[/QUOTE]
