My first 4Runner was Nautical Blue. I liked it, but the color seemed to be invisible to other drivers. my current one is Black, and IMHO, they are equally hard to keep clean, but the blue looked worse when it was dirty than the black does.

Black with a beige interior, the classiest of 4Runner color combos.

To add to that, it's a tri-coat paint, and the pearlcoat is faintly blue. In certain lights or angles it'll look deep navy, and jet black from others.

White is the most hassle free color and it shows the body lines well. Worst part is how ****ing bright Super White is in direct sunlight. Farmers pick white pickups for a reason.

The flake in the paint is pretty subtle, unless you are pretty close then it will pop in the right light. If you look in the bottom left corner you can see the flake pretty well. But as you get farther away from that point the flake blends and is very hard to see, but it gives one hell of a mirror finish.

If your set on black I highly and I mean highly recommend getting a ceramic coat done right after you purchase it. It encloses your paint underneath the coating providing solid protection. Doing it sooner then later will mean less paint correction needed since anything not corrected is stuck under the coating. I detail professionally as a side business and a majority of the cost to do ceramic coat job comes from paint correction, the less paint work needed the cheaper the bill

Side note - if the vehicle is new on the lot with the paint protecting adhesive on it, ask the dealer not to "prep" the exterior, 99% of the time you can guarantee they'll add swirls from improper washing methods.

I got the MBM because I didn't care for the red or silver or grey colors. I usually buy everything black. my clothes, my motorycles, my dog, my outdoor gear, you name it. For some reason I'm not real stoked on the black on my T4R. Would have much rather had the cement grey or one of the TRD Pro blue colors. and I don't even like blue. I just like those flat colors. considering getting it wrapped or maybe painted because I'm not super into the color.

My wife has a black metallic RX350. It's hard to keep it from looking dirty but when it is clean, it's beautiful.

Got me a 2019 MBM, and I love the color! Matches my GLA250, and once I got the windows tinted the windows (5%B and 35%F)... I just... it is unbelievable!

I owned a black Xterra for 12 years. It is a truck, if you are cool with showing your scars go for it. If you want a perpetually clean, pretty mall-crawler go for a different color.

I own one and after the first trip up a Forest Service rd, it’s covered in scratches. Luckily it’s only in the clear coat. Then again, I bought it to be used off road. Like others have mentioned you have to be up close to notice the flakes. Looks amazing when it’s clean but that doesn’t last long, even being garage parked.

Same here. Would have loved cement or quicksand but settled on black out of what was offered and I do like it. Non-pro colors on the 4runner are lame. The Tacoma has us beat in that department. Even the Tundra (like the taco) offers better colors. How hard is it to offer them on the 4runner??

Sure but for that one hour before the storm..its the best colour.

For those who dont wash it..white or silver are the easiest to keep looking clean.

Meanwhile..back to 5 coats of hand wax...slowly applied.. rubbed and buffed..just to last 30 minutes before the crud takes over.

Ive owned many black cars..after each one I say no more!! Never again..

Yeah right.. Black looks good when clean.

Color is one of the least important things to me. This one just happens to be black.
It's always going to be dirty because I live in rural AZ.
Last night it had a thick coat of dust on it, after the dealer had just detailed it. This morning it rained and washes the dust off. Now it's covered in mud because our dirt roads wash out.

Do you happen to live around Havasu? That looks just like the one that I traded in about 2 weeks ago.
