Upcoming 2014 Limited Build

I’ve been a lurker here for years. Always imagined I’d get a TRD Pro but could never convince my wife. The nexus of wants versus needs never materialized.

I have a vintage K5 Blazer for off road/camping use and an Explorer for work/commuting (subsidized by my employer- very little choice of vehicles). My wife has an Edge Limited for her commutes.

I’ll say this about Toyota reliability. My best friend’s family owns a Ford dealership. I can do work there after hours with him for the cost of dinner or beer. He’s the service director and has been a Ford mechanic for years. I can get Fords cheaper than almost anyone. Yet I’d never buy another Ford, even given all of those factors. So many problems it’s a joke, even for higher-end products.

On a recent family trip we realized we needed something slightly larger than the Edge. I was able to convince my wife that it was 4Runner time. We usually have an extra vehicle for emergencies and whatnot, and we didn’t at the moment, so it didn’t take much convincing.

Today we bought a CPO 2014 Limited. $24990, with 75k on the clock. It suits our needs and her desires perfectly. Best of all, besides being the family trip vehicle, I’ll be allowed to do mods to it! Probably starting with the headlights after my experience driving it tonight. Next will likely be a TRD front end. I believe it’s normal use will become the errand vehicle when it’s more than one person.

Anyhow, I was going to post the obligatory photos, but can’t figure out how to upload! I’ll get to it soon. I’m an older person and not very tech-savvy.

Welcome to the forums. I also recently picked up a limited. I liked it for the creature features but planned on doing the TRD front bumper as well. I hope to have my transformation finished soon. :-)
