Anyone install 12v power in glove box(2018)?

I have seen the usb data link moved to the glove box from the center console, but has anyone installed a 12 volt power source or a usb charger that works off the "keyed accessory" while maintaining all the stock locations? I know the older model years have them, but the 2018 does not. Is there a plug and play option without hacking the harness?

Funny, in 2012 they were both in the glove box. On my 2013 they came to the center stack. I think that was the only difference between a 2012 and 2013.

You could run dedicated power from the inside fuse block to the glove compartment. Please avoid guillotine style tap.

Use a 5amp or so fuse to power a cell Phone .

There’s probably nothing that’s plug-and-play. If you’re not going to draw a lot of current, say to just charge a cell phone, you could tap off a parallel circuit from the existing accessory outlet. You’d have to get to the back of the 12 volt outlet under the radio, strip some insulation off of the two wires with a knife, solder (16-18AWG) wires to each, insulate them, and run them to the back of the glove box where you’d install a 12 volt outlet.
After a quick search I found this link that might help:
Help moving USB from center stack to glove box

Good luck. It’s not that hard but be careful and deliberate and do a clean job soldering. I like using this cable braiding sleeve to protect the wires from abrasion (TechFlex F6N0.25BK Flexo F6 General Purpose 1/4-inch Braided Cable Sleeve).

Any updates? I am getting ready to install a Ram Mount XGrip on the left side of the radio trim. I was going to run a USB cord from that location to the glove box.

I’d like to install a square dual USB and a second lighter socket in the OE blanks in the glove box.

Seems like it would be fairly easy? I was going to jumper off of the power from the center Plug.
