Temperature for emblem install?

Calling all sticker/emblem experts. I recently got the black overlay kit from Pure4Runner.com. Problem is, I live in MN and I am going to be lucky if we get up to 50 degrees until spring next year. Should I wait? What temp do I need to get over to put these emblems on?

I put mine on in summer and still used rubbing alcohol on the emblems and used a hair drier to really warm up the emblems before installing the overlay's.I would wait if I were you till weather gets warmer.

I used to live in MN, and agree with waiting. Unless you can take advantage of a friends heated garage to actually get all the cold out of the material. Need some time to thaw it out.

I'm in TC. Did mine last week. In home garage with hair dryer to warm up emblems. Then promptly drove to Bemidji. No issues.

I would just clean the emblems up very well with qtips and isopropyl alcohol, then warm them up with hair dryer (or heat gun), also warm up the overlay emblems a little bit and stick them on with a good amount of pressure for 10 seconds or so. Once they are on you could warm them up again and then press again as well. I wouldn't wait. I probably couldn't wait. lol

Most 3M VHB type tapes want an application temperature between 70-100°F. That temp range is for both the tape and the item you're taping to.

Outside of temp, the most critical factor that most people overlook is pressure. The tape needs about 15-30 lbs of pressure on it to form the correct bond. So hold those emblems on firmly for at least 30 seconds.

In short, wait till it's warm and be sure to press firmly.

You don't have to wait until summer or spring. If you have a garage, that would be good enough. Just heat up both the emblem and the overlay and apply lots of pressure.

Living that far in the north...you have to have a buddy with a garage and a salamander heater if you don't have one yourself. Bring over a twelver, shoot the crap, and put them on.

I'd personally wait for warmer weather...
The adhesive in VHB tape has a cure time. It takes 24 hours to reach 90% and an additional 48 hours to reach full strength.
