I thought mine was scratched as well, but took a soft glasses cloth and it wiped the marks off. Only looked that way with the screen off and in certain light. Happy it was just smudge marks.

MGordo,
Are you planning on putting a screen protector on? I would think you would be ok since there put on the phones and tablets. What do you think?

The screen scratches easily. I noticed mine has 1 small scratch in the middle. I use a mircofiber towel to clean it and I'm wondering if there is something better? Something may have gotten stuck on the towel and dragged across the screen is my guess.

Reviving this thread. Has anyone had success with a screen protector? Also, for those that haven't used a screen protector how has your screen turned out? Just bought a new 2020 4runner and have noticed scratches in direct sunlight. I don't notice the scratches when the sun is not directly shining on the screen. I definitely didn't notice the scratches when I picked up the 4runner, noticed them a week or so after. I'm not sure if i should put a screen protector on as in the future I don't want to completely damage the screen removing it.

I've been using this one for the past few months. I put it on soon after getting my truck. I recommend it.

I wouldn't be too worried about damaging the screen while removing it. The screen protector is just the same sort of thing you'd put on a cell phone. It's tempered glass. I've put one on my Nintendo Switch as well. I actually took it off of my Switch and put it back on because it was a little sideways the first time. No problems. If you leave it on for months and decide to take it off, maybe use a hair dryer, but I think you'll be happy with it.

Thanks for the link. Couple of questions:
Did your screen already had scratches and if it did, is the screen protector hiding the scratches?
How is the glare with he screen protector on?
Thanks

Talking Damn ...just another thing to watch for!

My 2020 was sitting in the dealers showroom for a few weeks. The thought of hundreds of people pawing over it gives me the creeps. Just think of all the butts that sat in my seats before me, and all the chocolate finger smudges on my touchscreen. Oh the horror!

The screen protector came with a little alcohol wipe before applying the protector if I remember correctly, and that cleaned it up pretty well. I don't remember if there was much in the way of scratches. I don't think there were. I remember thinking I'd better get the protector before it got worse.

I personally don't notice much in the way of scratches these days. It's mostly dust on the screen protector because I hardly touch the screen at all.

I haven't encountered many problems of being able to see the screen due to glare. I don't think it would be any worse than it would be with no protector on at all. It might have improved a bit.

The gist of it is that the screen protector doesn't get in the way. It does a decent enough job of protecting the screen. It doesn't get in the way. The most notable thing is that it may also help with responsiveness. I didn't have much in the way of experience touching the screen without the protector, but I did remember being happy with it in that respect.

Huh, an issue I never knew existed. Looks like I'll have to check mine out tomorrow, though I'm sure it's scratched at this point since the truck is around 4 months old.

Did anyone conclusively come up with a screen protector that works well?

I used one previously mentioned above and the fit was perfect. Like others have to reading these posts I ran out with a flashlight and sure enough mine had a few small scratches less than a week off the dealer lot. So I immediately ordered a screen protector.
