2020 4runner insurance
So no accidents/ tickets and 20+ yr dealing with same state farm agent. Had a 19 runner and traded for a 20. They said since its not yet listed they can only quote off msrp?
So my rate goes up $175 bucks for 6 months! I ask how is that possible, they said value of the car. I politely said BS because 6 months ago I had a 65k pickup truck and my rate never went up.
Sure usually goes up 5-10 bucks.
Any agents in house? are they pulling my chain
Anyone else have issues insuring a 2020? thanks

Might be time to shop around for new insurance. I’ve also been with State Farm for over 20 years and as soon as the insurance is paid out for my roof replacement, I’m gonna start shopping for a better deal. I feel like I’m over paying and there are a lot of options out there.
And to answer your question, I’ve never had them not be able to give me a quote for the exact year of any of the 12 new cars I bought in the past 10 years. I’m calling BS.

I have Statefarm as well and I just came from a 2018 Yukon Denali that had a msrp of 80K. I don't remember exactly what my 6 month premium was on the Denali, but my payment went up about $30 bucks a month on my 2020 TRDP which had about a 52K msrp.
They told me the same story about it being too new and not having pricing on it.

Geico gave me the same bs sold off a year old Mdx and added the 18 orp and the bumped me 260 saying it was a newer car but wtf it was 16k cheaper ???? They have systematically been raising me $100 at every renewal for the last 5years even though no tickets or accidents I requested a written breakdown and explanation of the increase still waiting on it

I think alot of it is that insurance rates are just going up in general, the companies just don't want to tell us that. I went from a BMW wagon at $300yr to new 2018 4Runner at $500yr, no other changes. Other new car I bought November 2018 went $550yr to $900yr. Before these 2 car changes starting in 2017 my insurance was always around $3-350yr (from at least 2006-2017) for whatever car I had at the time, some pretty pricey and performance oriented. No accidents, tickets, anything. Just the way things are going my insurance agent said.

Recommended by Lite Brite and will also insure your overlanding stuff (cameras, drones, etc...) and other modifications to your 4Runner. Unfortunately not available in every state.

The insurance on my 270hp 4Runner shouldn't be within $20.00 of 650hp Corvette Z06. One has a MSRP of 52K and the other 90K. That makes no sense!
42 years old with perfect credit and a perfect driving record and never any claims made. Also have my home owners insurance with them.

32 year old, no accidents and a few speeding tickets awhile back. Traded in my 15 Sierra for a 20' TRD pro and saved 20 bucks a month somehow. Down to 76/mo with Intact insurance.

My wive uses USAA for all of our insurance needs and it seems to work well but I've never price shopped TBO.
I don't know the ins and outs of insurance but I believe that in many cases the rate comes down to the safety rating??
2018 Acura mdx = 5 star
2019 Toyota 4runner = 4star
2018 Denali = 4 star
BMW wagon = 5 Star (don't know the year)
Corvette = Couldn't actually find a "star" rating LOL
But to everyone's point: the insurance rates do not truly reflect the DRIVER, and it can't. You can, on paper, be the best driver around without any accidents or infractions to your record, but in the real world you're a beer-drinking-gun-totin'-roadrage-enducing-law-breaking-dill-hole. ☺
Bonus thought for this Wednesday: America's drivers education is a JOKE. Having learned much of my driving on European streets as well as on a European race-track I've learned more there in 1 day than in my entire driver's ed in the US. This Includes what I learned in the class-room and not just the lame 6 hours of "behind the wheel" of which 3 hours was getting the dude's laundry and newspaper and 2 other hours were driving on a high-way (let's get real, highway driving is easy) and 1 hour in a parking lot putting the car in "D" and "R".

Time to switch companies. Traded a commuter car worth 10k for a 2020 trd pro and the rate only went up $5. I have my wife’s car and our home insurance all bundled with Allstate.

Call AAA or American Family because they don't scold you for upgrading to newer safer vehicle.

I rather not say who I’m with. But trading my 17 Pro in and picking up my 2020 AG today. Goes up$73.00 for the year. I have 4 vehicles. A lot has to do with a lot of things. I was also paying $300 a year on my 2004 C5 Z06 and traded that in last year for my 19 Z06 and my insurance went up about 200 a year. But I’m. Not complaining.

Damn, that's awesome! my 2017 Z06 is about $895/per 6 months. No wrecks, tickets or claims. I'll definitely be shopping around soon.

Thanks Gswift,
Yeah I have everything with my insurance. And my wife and I have awesome rate for 4 cars. I don’t know where you live but me in Pa. with the winter months I lay my Z up for 3 months. That’s why my insurance is cheap. And yes I have a lot of coverage because of my Home also. Not sure if your insurance does that. I think a lot of insurance do not have that.
