Any tips on how to twist these damn things into the socket?. is yours a 2020? My 2020 uses stock H11's so shouldn't matter. anyway I tried the XV2 and it just won't twist into the socket! the XV2 has thick plastic tabs and are slightly different size than the oem. Tried an old H11 hid had from and old truck and it fit just fine. a frigging hid bulb should not be rocket science. I read somewhere the gaskets might be different but measured them and they are identical to the oem gasket.
Tried XD support, on hold 20 minutes till a computer said they would call me right back, then hung up. that was an hour ago

I've got a 2020, too. I installed these same exact lights last night as well as the LED high beams w/ DRL driver and they went in without any trouble; didn't need to make anything modifications to make them fit. There is a slight yellow color on the road about 5 feet in front though so maybe they aren't in correctly. I had the Philips 43k in my other 4Runner and don't remember that being the case.

So you put in the XV2 H11 Phillips bulb in your low beam no problem? If so they probably had the wrong bulb in a box and that's scary since they wanted 130 more for it

Yeah, it wasn't really a problem. I had to jiggle it a little bit and it took an attempt or two, but it wasn't that difficult. passenger side went in on first try without any trouble and I actually took it out because I figured it was in wrong since it was so easy. I know others posted that the o-ring is the problem and took it off their stock halogen bulbs and put on the HIDs but I didn't need to do that.

Yeah, later today I ran across that thread that talked about the gasket. That was it, with oem gasket it went on like butter. very weird some go on easy and others don't! Maybe XD stocks that bulb with a runner gasket and someone pulled from the wrong bin?
Anyway does yours have a bright spot and dark spot? Shabby sketch but the arrow points to a bright spot, then just further out is a dark area the follows everywhere on the road. I'm gonna ask them for a new bulb but should be interesting as they haven't called back since yesterday lunch time. lousy customer service!

Mine has that same weird lighting going on. I was going to email and ask about it because I don't remember my Philips 43K doing that.

The 43K were in almost 3 years I think. The 48K have been in 24 hrs and I've barely driven.

Here is stock halogens vs 4.8k Phillips - the one below that Labeled HID is the XD 5k in my old 19 runner, one below that labeled led is the Morimoto HB headlights

Stock 20 halogen

20 with 4.8k Phillips

19 with 5k hid

19 with Morimoto XB headlights

Put the halagens back in. Those spots are not normal and I've had hid in dozens of vehicles. Most expensive bulb they have and is the worst! Didn't really drive much till tonight, 1.5 hour trip from up North was miserable actually made my eyes hurt, lol.

Yeah, the pattern isn't super even, but it wasn't with the regular h11 xd bulb either, so I figured thats just how it is with the HID bulbs in stock projector... heck as far as I know it coulda been like this with the halogens and they weren't bright enough to notice. It's really interesting that there's some variance here with others lights. Gotta wonder if the bulbs aren't seated properly.

As far as inserting them.. def difficult to twist them in properly. I've got a massive battery in there, so makes installing the drivers side even less fun. m

I'm still REALLY pleased with them. My headlights put down more light than dang near everyone else on the road. (Driving past someone and mine have more light on the ground, or the car in front of me casting a shadow on the ground due to my lights).

I wish the width was better like my retrofits were, but its not an issue with the bulb, just that we're sticking HID's in the stock projectors.

Anyone with the stock LED fog lights have a photo with the 4800K?

Just wanted to know if there is a major visible colour difference between the 4800K Philips and the stock LED fog lights?

TIA

Finally got around to upgrading my @XenonDepot X-treme HID kit.
Picture isn't great but should give an idea. There was an overhead LED on above and behind the truck.
Passenger side is 3 year old 4300K Philips capsule
Driver side is brand new 4800K Philips V2 capsule

Sadly one of the new V2 capsules arrived broken, so I'll be driving like this until customer service can take care of me.
