Yes, there's an L-shaped piece (delrin or something?) that bolts on to the shaft with one allen bolt. Take out that bolt, pop off the extra piece, and it fits into the smaller receiver perfectly.

Probably will do that then. Maybe install a hitch on the wife's sedan so I would then have two vehicles that would be able to haul bikes around.

I have this and kept my basket from wobbling for my 600 mile road trips, well worth the money.

My 1 Up rack is absolutely rock solid. Not a bit of play at all. Maybe you have inserted it too far and the ball lock is Past the end of the receiver tube?

Mine is the same. It's several years old FWIW but still solid.

I've got a heavy duty double with an add-on tray (which makes for a heavy rack). I found that when I moved it to the 4runner (from an Ecohitch on a forester) the hitch didn't insert as securely/far in the receiver tube with the spare tire in the way.

What I do to make sure it's tight on the 4runner is give it one more turn with the wrench after bikes are loaded - I've found that snugs it up perfectly if I have a little side to side play.

Let me know your experience. Thanks.
Don't know if your question is answered or not, but I noticed on my kuat rack it does the same. I decided that the 4runner receiver is really short and the wobble ball doesn't have enough room to bite properly. I believe that is why it wobbles

Are you guys talking about the old style rack or the new Equip D? The new Equip D has a hitch hole whereas the old ones don't.
