2020 JBL. 15 speaker's?
Picked up a 20 last week and sounds good but I want to upgrade. Trying to figure out where they put 15 speakers?
2-dash
4-doors
2- rear hatch
1 sub.
That's nine, where's the other 6?

Here's an old list from somewhere that I saved. At one point I owned a 2006 Avalon and then a 2010 Highlander and I could never find all of the JBL speakers.
2 x 3.5" coaxials Dash
2 x 6"x9" woofer only driver and passenger door
2 x 6.5" coaxials back passenger doors
2 x 6.5" coaxials back gate
1 x 10" woofer back cargo
I think they count each coaxial speaker as 2 speakers.

= 15

This is a big step up from the 1986 Subaru GL wagon I used on the Outer Banks beaches for 14 years. That thing would go anywhere in the sand on 185/70-13 tires. Dual range 5 speed, factory skid plate, 3 position manually adjustable rear shocks and armored exhaust. All factory, including the white spoke wheels. The front sub frame finally rusted apart.

Isn't there a couple of tweeters near the dash on each side? That would be two more.
It would be nice if they would just make them all sound good. I guess quantity is a good sales tool. Seems sad you have to buy aftermarket speakers and an amp to make it sound good.

the 20 JBL sounds better than the premium sound in my 19 runner by far.....but, I've been spoiled with sound. My last build the door speakers were 1k each.
Think that's bad, they make 20k speakers for the wealthy. Until you hear a quality system you'll never know what you have been missing

Yes my 2020 JBL system does sound better than my 17 Pro system. I think it sounds good without spending a ton of money for aftermarket system. Done that so many time. This is fine for me. Not changing it out.

They say 15, but only list 9.

I just got a limited 2020 nightshade. What do you use for treble mid and bass on your equalizer? I can’t figure out the best set up for this.

depends on the input, but typically leave it flat or +1 base, +1 treble, mid 0. pushing further in any direction is unnecessary imo. first system i've had where adjustments didnt seem to help really

I feel as if there could be better depth from the dash speakers. Any suggestions on what to put there?

I’m not sure if is different. All I know it sounds whey better than my entune did in my 17 Pro. No intentions in ripping this out for a aftermarket system. Been thru that enough. The JBL system is fine for me.

After having mine a month now I also plan on leaving stock. It sounds leap years above the 4runner premium sound I had in the 19. It's not high end but sounds good enough.
