Finally got my front shocks replaced today. Toyota sent the 19/20 shocks the first time I went in for the replacement so they had to reorder. Took two weeks for the correct 2021s to come in. They only had my 4Runner a few hours. So far so good. I drove from the dealership to work this afternoon and there was no noise. The pavement in my work parking lot is pretty bad so my 4Runner usually sounds horrible when I pull in or out of there. It’s sunny and relatively warm this afternoon however. The real test will be tonight at 11, after it’s been sitting all night and temps are in the 20’s. Usually, when I leave work it sounds like I’m riding a horse down a cobblestone street. Drove me nuts.

I know some people had the issue from the start but I didn’t. Bought mine in August of 2019 and didn’t notice anything last winter. Drove it up and down the beaches for two summers and never heard a sound, but of course, it was warm then. Just started at the beginning of this winter and got progressively worse.

Eibach is on it they already had a 21 Pro in the shop and working on the spring it might take a month or 2

Looks good. Did you go C or P load? How much trimming to fit?

Went P load, no trimming but I did get a BMC and SPC uppers. Moved liner in a tad as well. All that was overkill and gave me a boat load of room

I did it with the original fox shocks, the eibachs won't fit on the replacement or 21s yet. Not that cold where I live and haven't had any clunking

Yes! I notice it as well exactly as you described. It drives me nut and I've checked the sway bar and bushings. All is good, maybe its just the way they are?

Finally had the front shocks replaced and the clunking noise is gone. Mind you it isn't as cold today, but temperatures are dipping again in the next day or two, so I will keep an eye on things. Also of note, the ride definitely feels different, better. I don't feel the same nose dive I used to and there is less sway when cornering at higher speeds. I know some mentioned it might have been just an "in your head" type feeling that the ride was different, I honestly don't think that's the case; it does feel different.

I hope the rest of you can get this done as soon as possible and without any trouble. It was a headache for me to get both done, but in the end i'm happy it's over.

I agree. At first I thought it was probably a placebo effect but it feels a little more controlled but still plush if that makes any sense.
