You can hear it a lot when you first drive it in them morning and it's chilly outside (like below 50ish). Once the shocks warm up (by driving around and the shocks soaking up the spring's forces), the clicks/clunks go away.
I've also had the privilege of being invited to drive a friend's scca rallycross car. I asked him... "hey do these things use bypass shocks (not knowing anything about rally), and he said yes and asked why... so I told him my Ohlins makes the same sounds as his rallycross car.
So perhaps what Toyota is saying is actually normal.

Well thank you for trying to be helpful unlike more people that keep saying it’s normal and deal with it. This isn’t a click. This is a loud hollow thunk almost the same as when your bushing go bad. Yes some shocks make a click, but this isn’t that. Also, it’s only one shock. If this was a standard working action, wouldn’t it be every shock instead of one? In any case, when you feel your floorboard hit from a shock, something isn’t right.
I’m still a believer that it’s possible not the shock but because of the tech tip they will not try to fix anything else. Hence it will not get fixed and we have no warranty for that part of the truck
