ARB Summit bumper..Controller mounting

All of the instructions for the ARB Summit winch install show the controller exposed on the top side protruding from the top. Has anyone figured out how to mount the controller inside the bumper and still manage to access it to plug in your remote? I have the bumper and my Smitty XRC waiting to go in soon. I want to utilize the removable top plate that comes with the bumper to keep everything closed off, but I still need to access the controller.

Remote mounting is an option but requires building new cables and more work. I'm hoping someone has hidden their controller somewhere they're still able to access it in the bumper. There doesn't seem to be a ton of experience posts around this bumper.

Not specific to the bumper, but it's very easy to remote the control plug to somewhere inside the hood or anywhere else you'd like. You don't need to extend the heavy cables. Just the signal wires. This is where I put mine - I used a waterproof box to house a master on/off switch, the remote plug female adapter socket, and the wireless control box with relays for wireless operation. It mounts to a small bracket I made that bolts to the inner fender welded nuts that were available.

Dude, very clean. Thats a cool idea. I have a quick connect plug on the power cables so no need for a switch. If I can find a simple way to relocate the connect, I'd just do that. Your idea is pretty clean as far as getting the plug to sit in that box. As far as location, my air compressor is in that space near the booster. Since I may get away with just using a little box, find a location should be pretty easy. Thoughtful. Thanks

Think about checking out the inside of the bumper near the winch motor for a good spot. You might need to whip up some custom brackets or mounts to make sure everything fits snug. Watch out for any heat or vibrations that could mess with the controller's performance.
Yeah, you're spot on about remote mounting, but it does make things a bit more complicated with the cables. Still, if you're all about that sleek, integrated vibe, putting in the effort for custom cabling could be worth it.
