Driver door lock

I am new to the sub so I wasn't able to start my own thread, and hope the mods are ok with asking this question. I have a base SR5 5th gen, and my fob and lock switch don't work on the driver door. I am new to the 4runner life and was just curious as to what it may be. The fob and switch on the panel lock and unlock all other doors, just not my driver.

Sounds like a bad actuator. Door lock actuator failures are one of the few commonly found issues with this vehicle.

Thanks, I'll have to look into it. Is this a simple or complex fix? Not much of a gear head myself, but I have friends that are

You've got me there. To clarify, if you push the lock/unlock button twice, does it lock/unlock the rear passenger doors and tailgate? I suppose it's possible the two front doors are on a different fused circuit, but I would have to see a schematic. I suppose it's possible both front actuator motors are bad, but I would check fuses first.

Yes, and the driver door lock with the key from the outside, but it doesn't lock the passenger. I have no idea, but I wouldn't see them trying to lock if a fuse was bad.
