Auto re-lock

Now I have my 15 post minimum done, I want to ask...how do I fix it where my doors don't automatically re-lock after I unlock them? Like if you let so much time pass before you try to open the door. My Murano has that feature, but it can be turned off. Can it be turned off on the 4runner?

You can refer to your Owner's Manual to set or cancel the automatic door locking and unlocking systems.

It can be found in the section Opening, Closing, and Locking the doors.

There is a chart to set/cancel settings related to shift lever position, speed, and time.

I haven't seen the above mentioned but you can get a 1-week free trial of Carista and do it there. Or you can do it via the Techstream software

I don't mind the doors locking when I shift into drive and unlocking when I put it in park. I'm talking about after I've already parked at the house and locked the doors and went inside. Say, I forgot to get something out and I unlock it, but I get distracted by one of my kids...then I finally go outside to find out it has already locked back. Then I have to go back inside and unlock it again. I want to turn that feature off, if possible.

I don’t think there’s a way to disable it. It’s probably there for accidental button pushes. If you open the any door it will not re-lock but that’s not really what you’re looking for.

Yeah, you can turn that off in the app.

I'm glad to see this conversation going, because I've been trying to figure out how to have the truck lock it's self or be able to do it from the rear hatch area.

I'm a real estate photographer and haul around a lot of gear, frequently accessing it during a shoot. It's frustrating to (my truck is smart key) have all of the doors unlock when accessing the hatch and then have to either go to the front door to press the handle or dig the keys out of my pocket to relock the truck...often done while juggling thousands of dollars of camera gear.

My Tahoe would unlock the hatch only and then relock it when it closed. IMO that's a much better system for someone like myself who uses the vehicle to work.

Any ideas?

You can push the 'UP' arrow on the tailgate to lock the truck with the smart key system. I use it all the time on my 2013 limited.

Did you purchase the adapter? It won't work without it.

My fault. I should have mentioned you need an OBDII adapter. You don't have to get the one specifically made by Carista. You can use just about any one. I suggest getting a wifi one over bluetooth though.

Dude, you're a life saver! That is way easier.

I could kiss you but you know, I'm a dude....and you're probably a dude...and you're Canadian, so not only would it be weird but it might also start an international incident...eh.

Driver door lock

I am new to the sub so I wasn't able to start my own thread, and hope the mods are ok with asking this question. I have a base SR5 5th gen, and my fob and lock switch don't work on the driver door. I am new to the 4runner life and was just curious as to what it may be. The fob and switch on the panel lock and unlock all other doors, just not my driver.
