Is there really a point in me getting a full icon or kings set installed if I have no intentions of leaving the pavement?

Of course not, a spring and shock will be just find for lift, just not sure why you want to skimp on the foundation of your vehicle but overpay for a roof rack but to each his own

Damn straight.

In response to OP, my reccomendation would be to drive it for a while and figure out what you would really like/need. For a quick lift to go to 285's, why not just get the wheelers T13 rear and T1 springs front, and 5100's. For a couple hundred you will have 1-2" or so of lift which may be enough to clear 285's.

Wheeler's T13 Rear Coil Spring Pair for 2010+ 4Runner

Wheeler's T1 Front Coil Spring Pair for 1995-2015 Tacoma, 1996+ 4Runner, 2007+ FJ Cruiser
