TRD Intake Couple Does Not Fit

Hi all,

Ordered all the parts for a TRD Intake during the black friday sales. Everything seems to be right except for the coupler.

It isn’t even close to being able to fit. I have tried to force it but have had no luck. Lookinf at install videos, everyone’s male connectors are on the same side. This one has them on opposite sides.

I’ve attached photos of my order, the box it came in, and the parts. Hoping someone can help me out. Thank you.

part# is right, part is wrong definitely both need to be on the same side for vacuum line and pcv.

Great. Thank you for the response! I just sent an email to the dealer to get the correct coupler.

So as an update. The dealer said it’s the right part. Also noticed the numbering on the coupler is completely different than on others posted to the site. Told the dealer but they said there is nothing they can do, that it’s the right part.

I still don’t think it is but I did get it on using a blow dryer and brute force. Once it stops raining here in NY I’m gonna try and fit it all together. Looks like I will need to run a longer vacuum line, but I don’t see a reason why the vacuum line on the other side will hurt.

I would tell the dealer to stick his head where sun don't shine. That is not the right part, some dipshit pulled from the wrong bin.
Hope it don't put stress on the trd and crack it? It's also going to look stupid

If you paid by credit card, why not file a chargeback and order the part again from a different dealer. I would not take the dealers word as final.

So I found that @Saker installed the exact same coupler on his 14 4runner and posted a photo of it installed back in 2016. I reached out to him about it.

I did pay by credit card, but I am always reluctant to use a chargeback on the small stuff.

Plot Twist:

Contacted another dealer who confirmed they have the correct coupler. Contacted the original dealer for a return and they are now ordering a new set and will check the coupler when it arrives tomorrow, ship it to me if it is the correct one, otherwise will take the return. Looking like this problem is solved.

Stop being such a push over. Return the coupler and get the money back asap. Then buy the correct part from the dealer that confirmed it is the correct part.

Why let the original dealer play games with you?

This is why dealers get away with stupid crap like this, its because people bend to their stupidity.

I fight with people for a living so I try not to in my personal life. I agree that service and parts departments play games or downright don’t know what they are talking about, but I do like to give them chances before immediately charging back. If it doesn’t get worked out tomorrow I will definitely be doing what you said.
