This. I'm not an audiophile but I find android auto Spotify sounds good. If you're worried about data you can download songs onto phone with Spotify if you have the subscription.
Have trouble understanding your original question - have you gotten android auto to work? If not, download most recent version on your phone and plug phone into car. There is an option in the menu to go into android auto. You will find Google maps is superior to the built in navigation. It's worthwile. There is also a setting somewhere in the infotainment menus to make android auto automatically pop up if you plug in the phone when you start the car - I forget it at the moment.
Some luxury cars have wireless android and apple but if audio quality is your goal that is unlikely to be a desirable option in any case.
