3 inch lift + 285's + E rated M/T = 16 mph on Highway. City driving, I try not to.

I was getting 15-17mpg in the city. 20-23mpg on the highway. Anything above 65mph, quickly diminishes any mpg.

Respectfully...complaining about the gas mileage on a heavy suv that most likely will get loaded down with heavy accessories is somewhat akin to a Ferrari owner complaining about the cost of tires. Doesn't make much sense

I'm pleased that even though my TRD ORP is larger and approx. 1k lbs heavier than the 3rd gen I had, they get pretty much the same MPG.

At what number does gas mileage make sense to you?

This is a repost I made in another thread...

In many ways I agree with the "4Runner isn't a prius" posts.
If a Prius did the job for me I still wouldn't be driving one.
But I like to spend my money on other things beside gas.
I've driven my 4R for 100,000+ miles. I've averaged 21MPG and the average cost per gallon over that time has worked out to $3.19.

$15,190 on gas!
If I got a crappy 15mpg I would've spent $21,267.
$6,000 will buy a lot of beer.
Code:
 Miles	MPG	gal	price	Total
100,000	15	6667	3.19 $21,267
100,000	16	6250	3.19 $19,938
100,000	17	5882	3.19 $18,765
100,000	18	5556	3.19 $17,722
100,000	19	5263	3.19 $16,789
100,000	20	5000	3.19 $15,950
100,000	21	4762	3.19 $15,190
100,000	22	4545	3.19 $14,500
100,000	23	4348	3.19 $13,870
100,000	24	4167	3.19 $13,292
