Deliveries for First and second groups are in late March now.

The batch didn't pass through the QC, so we'll have to re-make them. sorry about the delay

Can someone please tell me where I went wrong? I have a 2016 T4R Limited. I clamped a pink wire with one of the wires provided and the white wire with the other half of the wire provided and left the clamps inside the housing. I have the excess wire just hanging out in the door panel. Is that supposed to connect to anything? My turn signal light on the mirror is not showing up. Please help

I found out what was wrong thanks to help of Eddy from Suma who was quick to respond to emails. It was a rookie mistake but nonetheless a lesson learned. You need to make sure the splicers are properly clamped and should feel a click/locking type sensation. In addition after taking my door apart I realized it’s not necessary at all and this can all be completed in 5min or less. To pay it forward I’m attaching pics and descriptions so you don’t disassemble everything like I did..

1. Remove mirror (By pulling along the edges) and unplug the double defrost wires. You can rid the original mirror.
2. Remove plastic housing (outside cover) by pushing on the clip/tab from the inside of the mirror
3. connect the 2 split wires from the new Suma mirror with the 2 split wires Suma gives you and feed them through the housing toward where the wires lead to the turn signal.
4 us the splicer to connect the 2 wires that are fed through to the pink and white wires from the original turn light.
5 cut the remaining excess provided and double check it works before reassembling everything.

Hope that helps

Glad you were able to resolve this. Often times these clamps are tricky and bad contacts occur. You can use a meter to check one end of the wire to the other end via resistor test.

I’m sure there have been delays with the Coronavirus pandemic, but what updates can you provide to us?

Just got an update today. Long story short they aren't ready yet, really sorry.

Production is really affected with what's going on now. We didn't anticipate this when taking the pre-orders. We can't even take new orders for those who are interested at full prize. At this point, we will update every few weeks until they are ready, really sorry for that.

To make it up, we'd love to offer you 20% off on our new car care products. We'll contact each you personally to answer any questions that you might have and include the coupon, really appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

This is from the group buy thread, but I thought it might be useful here as well.

---

so quick update.
Everything works well, with a much wider FOV

as i noted the install instructions are not for a 4runner so they are of no use.
the vampire taps are too large to tap the oem mirror turn signal as well.

another thing to note, the driver side mirror has 2 metal pronged tabs that have to be removed from the stock mirror and moved to the suma mirror to mount.

I ditched the provided taps, as they are just a short waiting to happen.
Its easy enough to depin the oem mirror signal connector and tin and push the new wires through the grommet to make a water proof stable connection that looks oem and will never short.

Link below for photos of install.

Instead of re pin and new wire, couldn't you just solder the wire and shrink wrap?

Please someone wire this up to a non-premium, and tell me how to do it. Hah hah. I may take a stab at it but I don't normally do electrical.

no need to re pin, I just piggybacked the stock plug.
you could cut and splice something in if you wanted but those wires are very short and would be real easy to mess up.

Got my mirrors w/defrost option today (yay) but the clips don't line up with the OEM mirror mount. OEM clips are at an angle, new SUMA ones are parallel to the ground. Am I missing something here?
