A bit of a hassle...got used to the auto shut off. I can always just manually turn them off everytime I park but any reason why it all of a sudden stopped this feature? So weird, just started doing this randomly. Did I randomly turn off these features somehow?

2014 te

My headlights did the same thing for about a year but only in wet weather.
Very annoying :ybrick Hasn’t happened in a couple years now.

Also the head unit likes to freeze, shut off and reset a few times on long trips.
Usually in hot weather.

I suspect it’s a poor ground B- somewhere.
I just put up with it cause other than that there’s been no issues.

Dealer should have some service history. Check there.

Did you hit the lock button twice? On mine, the first press arms the vehicle but leaves the lights on. They will shut off after 30 seconds, but if you hit the lock button a second time the lights go off.

Turn the knob inside to the off position when you are done with the headlights, when you need headlights...turn that same knob to the on position.

Its a bold concept, but it always works.

Lock it twice

I have to hit the lock button on the remote a second time and then my lights go out. I am sure there is a setting to change that.

I just tried something on my 2019 Off Road, to see if I can simulate what you're talking about. If I unlock it and turn the headlights on, then lock it back, the headlights stay on and don't shut off...even after 30 seconds. If I start the engine and turn the headlights on, then shut the engine off and lock it with the headlights on, the headlights shut off instantly.

Exactly, if the engine was not started the headlights stay on. If you turn on/off engine without touching any lights switch it should auto-turnoff or turn off immediately with two pushes of the lock button.

I don't use the remote.
I turn off the lights with the switch.
I lock and unlock the door with the key.
I've never left my lights on, I've never locked myself out.
It's worked for me the last 43 years.

When I turn off the engine, get out of the car, and lock the doors - the headlights stay on for 30 seconds (can be changed to 60 and 90 seconds IIRC). If I hit the lock button one more time, the lights turn off.

However, if (my aftermarket) remote start is used and allowed to run until the 15 minute shutoff, the headlights will stay on until I get in the car, turn the ignition on and off, get back out, and lock the doors.

Which aftermarket remote start kit?
