Did this part fit and work correctly on your 2020 4runner? I have a 2020 trd pro and the website is saying it does not fit the vehicle. Im new to this and just trying to make sure i buy the correct parts. Thanks

Any thoughts on this is appreciated!
Do not know if you bought and installed the TRD CAI. But you might want to forego cutting up your wire harness and you and extender instead, It is a little longer than needed but I tucked it out of the way. Underdog Racing sells them.

When I bought mine for my 19 Pro, it said the same thing. Nothing has really changed inside the engine bay. With that said, save yourself some money and buy the individual components instead of the kit. I think I paid around $220 shipped when I did it this way. I used Conicelli Toyota from PA and ordered online.

Was looking at the TRD cai and came across this ext cable. Got the setup and installed 2 weeks ago on my ‘20 ORP. Sound great when it hit 2k+ rpm.
No issues with the fit, except for a couple of minor nylon strap mounting points that doesn’t match the MY 2012 illustrated instructions, but no big deal.
Didn’t have to mess with undoing existing wire loom when using the UDR cable.

Got mine installed yesterday on my 2020 ORP. The URD extension cable saves a bunch of time. Great find.

I read in another post about using the bracket that secured the resonator in the stock intake as a mounting point for the wiring bundles. This worked like a charm also. I’m OCD about such things and have the wiring tidy and secure now.

Question - does anyone have experience with how this intake sounds with the stock paper filter versus the TRD oiled filter? My kit obviously came with the oiled filter, and my suspicion is that it is louder than the stock paper filter?? Perhaps I will need to try both. Initial impression is that maybe this thing is too loud!

I have a URD MAF Calibrator, S&B CAI, and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and I'm very satisfied with the sound and performance of my 2016 SR5 now. Initially I was worried that the MF would drone and be annoying and too loud, but that is not the case at all. Has a nice note when driving, gets loud when you step on it, but it isn't obnoxious. I have heard good things about the Borla cat-back.

Good Question...if anyone knows if the stock paper filter fits the TRD intake box, please share!
I thought i remembered that someone said the filter size was a little bit different....

It should be exactly same. I have installed TRD Cold Air Intake on my 2017 TRD PRO. It's so nice. The sound and the pull that you feel. Use the TRD Oiled Filter and you will feel more difference. I have made Installation video so hopefully, it's helpful.

Hi All,

I was thinking about Installing a TRD Cold Air Intake on my 2021 TRD Pro. Any issues i should be aware of? My local dealer says the newest part number they can find only fits up to a 2013 4Runner. Also is it worth ordering the URD MAF Sensor Extension Harness if i am going to have the Dealer Install?

Thanks! Appreciate It!

What is the filter media made out of? Is it a high flow type like K&N or the others?

Very similar to K&N - Here is a link:

Part: PTR43-00083

Amazon.com: TRD Performance Air Filter: Automotive

I also purchased this dry flow filter which fits as well. I do find that the Toyota one is a little harder to get the top on indicating a slightly tighter fit.

Amazon.com: AEM 28-20438 DryFlow Air Filter: Automotive

I have the same AEM already in the stock box and was looking to get the TRD intake, glad to hear there aren't any issues using it. Just looking for a little more growl out of this large V6.

The TRD CAI will fit years up to 2020. Many sites have not updated the year range.

But there is a better way to go: the K&N CAI is half the cost, doesn't move the MAF sensor (no wire extension needed) and uses the same size air filter element as the original. Performance Air Intake System
