Running air lines from ARB Twin Compressor

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an ARB twin compressor w/solenoid kit. I'm trying to figure out the best way to run the airlines from the manifold if I want two different quick disconnect locations: one under hood and one in rear (Located either inside rear panel or ARB remote hose coupling kit for near spare tire). I was thinking you can remove one bolt on the side of the manifold where a solenoid would go and replace it with a connection w/ line to the rear. Would this work without a solenoid, and will this blow a line? Thanks!

I'm in the process of laying out all my components to do the same thing, but I'm note going to utilize one of the 1/8" BSPP ports like your discussing. You can do what you're talking about and there shouldn't be any issues, that is if you don't plan on running 2 lockers. you'll need to use an 1/8" BSPP adapter off the manifold to run your line. ARB had a huge catalog of air accessory parts like the one you're already looking into. for what it's worth I'm running a twin ARB air compressor to a manifold, then to a 1 gallon air tank, and off the air tank I've ran a line to the front bumper, and I'm planning on adding a tee off the tank to run an additional line to the rear cargo area. both will have the quick connections and dust covers.

Hope this helps ya figure out the next move.

DBentley,
Thanks for your response. You solidified my thoughts, so i'm going to give it a go. I need to get a tank like you so I can use power tools. Good luck on your install. I just got the compressor running off the SPOD fine so I can use it this weekend. Now, I have to wait for my bracket for the rear chuck.

ETA: You got the solenoid kit. Are you trying to run two solenoids? If so, that might get dangerous. I'm not sure what would happen if you started bleeding pressure off a line that was operating a locker. that might not be a good idea. but one locker and one rear extension I think is fine. You could always write to ARB.
------------

As far as I am aware, all the ports on the ARB manifold are equal. The solenoid simply opens the gate for the air to flow.

In your link, that black fitting shuts the air off until a hose is connected. then it lets the air pass.

So unless you want to 'trigger' that outlet from a switch, then no, you would not need a solenoid. The solenoid is simply an 'air switch'.

I assume you have the black connector on your manifold now and for instance if you wanted to pump up your tires, you plug a hose in and fill them, unplug when finished. If you want another situation like that at the rear, then just run the air line and you are set. You could pump up tires from the rear or the front.

regardless, the system as a whole will always have the same pressure in it.
that would be 120psi max so hopefully you don't have any hose that can't handle that pressure.

Or.... I totally misunderestood what you are asking. But I think that's what you are asking.

Thank you for your response. I have decided to return the solenoid and run the rear line directly from the manifold. You can get the dust covers from the site listed below, but i'm not sure what bracket you are referring too.

Thanks, I was just wondering if DBentley had seen any other type brackets like the link you posted earlier. A bracket to mount the coupler somewhere towards the rear.

I would like to run a line to the rear as well but hadn't really given much thought as to the best place or method to mount.

The link below is a full list of ARB air system products. I used this to help me figure out what parts I wanted and contacted ARB to find distributors I could order from.

Hey all, I'm planning on running a hose from my twin to the rear of the vehicle. I'm wondering where people have mounted their brackets and quick connectors in the rear. Is there anywhere where you can mount it without drilling into metal? Any pictures would be appreciated! Thanks!
