This is a great post that exemplifies the downsides of the aftermarket bulbs, clearly (pun intended) showing hotspots and glare.

While some of the HID/LED bulbs may appear brighter but in actually decreases your vision.

Based on this post I may be considering the 4R again.

100%, i used to drive as well but the NE only. Loved the driving, no issues with the lights on my trucks.

But yeah, the wrong lighting in the wrong housing is a bad idea, cant overlook aliment ether. I personally hate LED's.

Nah, LEO's have enough on there plate to be going after the many headlights that are too bright OEM or otherwise. I used to get flashed all the time with my Acura TL and there stock HID's. I know ill never be flashed in my 4R. lol

Sounds logical but for comparison just used the same cell phone parked in the same spot, phone top center of the steering wheel. Only variable with those comparisons may be different time of year and people have the holiday lights on further down the street. Regardless of exposure you can see headlight distance where they shine farthest out, then up close after the hood, look to right, left and compare the brightness using the crackfill in the street as a marker that's about center of the pic, when it gets close to the hood is curves to the left

The pictures are fine. They clearly show the louse sine illumination of the "whole housing" kit and the glare and hotspots of the aftermarket solutions.

I think your seeing the spotty road. Only lights I had with bright and dark spots were the Phillips XVR's. I'm assumed they were just defective, then learned another poster said his were the same

That actually looks surprisingly very good. lol

I want to see what the diode dynamics and xenon depot leds look like vs these.

Confirming this photo has no fog lights on?

I sent the xb back. The lighting imo is awful.
I was kind of hoping everyone would post up pics. Don't need to be from the same spot, just see the output. I imagine in this forum I would guess about every bulb out there would have been used by now!

Look at the 5k and the morimoto photos. Both of those have awful glare right about where the grassy area is on the right middle of the photo.

Those hotspots and glare is where your eyes will be drawn. Your goal is to get even lighting with the brightest spot (if any) furthest away from you and mostly centered.

As far as aiming is concerned, here is the proper procedure for manual aiming. It is a bit time and labor intensive, but the results will be worth it.

I really don't see the need for more than an H9 bulb upgrade. Am i missing something?

Do they go too fast? Because it seems the other more expensive options are not that much better?

Wrong, the morimoto XB had zero glare, just didn't care for the cutoff up close.
Mine were laser alined so they were accurate

Many have them problem free. They run hot. oem stock using infrared temp gun run 140-150ish. The H9 runs over 200, even the face of the headlight gets hot. In comparison the gtr runs 120ish

And the H9 is also the only "semi legal" upgrade.
