Lifted 4runners with gobi rack - Parking clearance

hi guys,

i was wondering what is the minimum height clearance of parking garages you guys can enter with your lifted 4runner running with gobi rack?

right now I have the stealth gobi rack, running on 265/70/17, stock sr5 suspension and planning to pull the trigger on a 2.5 bilstein lift kit.

thanks in advance for you input!

Logic dictates that if you take your truck now and add 2.5", that'll give you the height of the truck after the 2.5" lift kit.

I've got 285/70/17 w/Gobi and 3"/2" lift on my 18 TRDP and it fits in my 8' garage door. Anything less than 7'-6" you'd be cutting it close.

Def tape measure it.

@bjorn I think everyone here said it right: Tape measure.

AND keep in mind that the amount of weight in the truck will affect it: Passengers, fuel, gear, dirt in the carpet ☺

While it won't affect it a lot the pressure in your tires will adjust your right height too.

When in doubt, don't pull into a possibly low parking deck or air down.

I got a 3"F/1.5"R lift, 285s, no-rise stealth rack with a 40" Rigid light bar, I do not enter garages under 6'-8". I have hit the little warning plastic hanger of garages at 6'7".

+1 for tape measure and then always be sure to add another 1/2" or so for going up garage ramps. Some ramps have concrete risers right at the bend for the ramp and you can pinch a light bar or the mid point of the rack on them.

Same set up as quoted but with Gobi Stealth and I don't enter garages that are lower than 7'2"

I do get the logic of tape measure, I was just hoping to get inputs from people based on their experience

I am planning on putting a 40" light bar too. but before I get one I want to make sure I don't break it entering parking garages lol

The 40" light bar could stick up farther than the rise in the front of the Gobi Stealth, so be sure to measure to the top of whatever you have mounted up there that is the tallest/farthest from the ground.
My light bar and ARB awning on the side both stick up above the rack, so just a reminder to take those into account.

Yup my Rigid light bar stick up about 2" higher than the highest point of the no-rise stealth rack. I'd assume the normal rise rack would be just about level and the whole installation would be 6.5" above the roof level (as their website says).

Roughly 2.5 in of lift, Baja flat rack, and 285/70/17. I barely clear my 6'6" garage at work.
