2020 SR5P here. Lifted twice, once with a 2/1 spacer lift, and then 2.5/2 suspension lift. Never had issues with the TSS sensor. It did malfunction one time during HEAVY rain, but I hear that is a common issue.

When I bought it, the sales agent and his manager said all their TSS sensors are valid up to a 3 inch lift. Anything beyond 3 inches they do not claim that the TSS will continue to work as intended.

You should get a second opinion from another dealership. Ones where you see that put on lifts on their models and sell as is. I don't think its valid to spend money on a vehicle where you have to turn off the safety sensors, when there are plenty of others out there who have lifted and the sensors still work for them.

Couldn't get the accessories wanted on a Pro so I opted for the SR5 4x4. It is black with Tan suplex leather, moonroof, passisve entry, heated seats, push button rear window, Bridgestones, running boards, all weather mats, 3rd row, power front seats and other stuff. I could have gotten a Trd Pro for 175 bucks less but just wasn't the vehicle I thought. Put the blackout kit on it, Trd front skidplate
My 2020 Pro came with all of that and more minus the 3rd row of seats.

So much ignorance here it's not even funny. I had a 2018 tacoma with tss and thought I would hate it but maybe mine was defective or I know how to drive but it only came on less than 3 times (each time a car braked suddenly in front of me). Had a 3 inch lift with 33s never had to recalibrate and did the lift install myself.

Have a 2020 with tss and same crap, it's like its not there but then again I don't drive like a jackass

IMHO the hate is coming from people that either a) are trying to justify why their older model is better so they don't feel bad for missing out on new features, b) from people who have a clinical dislike of newer technology, or c) people who avoid any safety technology under the mistaken assumption that they possess divine driving skills unmatched by other mere mortals.

Frankly, I like the features. They work well, are handy, and if you really can't stand them are easily disabled.

Agreed. If you haven't tried the adaptive cruise, and you still hate on it, you're out of your mind. It's awesome!

Also that the lane departure defaults to OFF and is only on when you choose, is friggen rad!

These "I don't want no stinking electric nannies" people are superrr offbase.

A buddy did a lift on his and just had the safety sense recalibrated and it works fine. Most glass shops have a recalibration computer that they use to do windshield replacements on newer cars.

I have a 2020 ORP that is completely stock and the TSS errors just driving down the road. Frustrating.

So the dealer decides to disable it. Wonder what he pays in liability premiums? Might go up🤣🤣

Something to think about before you buy a newer 4Runner if the safety sense is a buying factor but you want to run 33s.
What “malfunctioned” and what was the situation?

+1

I use the radar cruise every time I’m on the highway. I think it works great. I have had it apply the brakes also.

I’m happy my wife’s car has radar cruise and collision avoidance too. Her Acura TLX SHAWD even drives itself. You can shove Burger King Whoppers in your face when you are on a trip and not have to stop to do it.

You don't have to stop to buy the burgers?

As soon as you change the performance parameters, then the Act goes out the window - even if SEMA wants to imply differently.

In short, the purpose of the Act (as we are discussing it here) was to prevent a manufacturer from denying warranty coverage based upon the mere presence of an aftermarket part or maintenance done by someone other than the manufacturer.
