Removing Factory Remote Start on Smart Key 19 4Runner?

Has anyone removed their factory one and converted to one of the aftermarket ones? If so, any instructions on how to do this? I heard something about dealer has to reprogram something?

I want to be able to use my remote start from my phone among other features, and before I can even get a kit, I have to remote the factory one. Any help would be appreciated. I tried searching here and Google and didn't find anything about the OEM remote start system adding/removing for instructions. The few instruction links people posted no longer work either.

With key start, after removal I do believe you need tech stream to unpair it from the vehicle ECU.

Do you have the instructions for with the smart key?

Edit, I found it at the same link you had the other one from.

Is it required to unprogram whatever was programmed?

Sorry, I read your post as regular key. My bad.

PTS just find the module up high on left behind glove box and unplug it You should be good to go after that.
