Anyone in Boulder and in the favor business? :)

So I've put a deposit on a 2011 trail at a Jeep dealer in Boulder CO. I know I'm in it already, but it would be great if someone could put an eye on it and make sure it's not a total POS before I buy it and ship it to NC. If it's a piece of junk, I'll eat the deposit and keep looking If not, I'll roll the dice.

You put a deposit down on a car without really looking at the car?

At least have the salesman do a video call / walk-around for you, or get you detailed pictures, or something.

Airfare from NC to CO for a day is like $200, I'd spend the money, fly out and see the car, then ship it home. If you're willing to eat a deposit on a car then an extra $200 or $300 shouldn't break the bank

This + this is someone from North Carolina trying to buy a vehicle from snow country over the internet.

I would also not be enlisting the help of randos on the web to look at a vehicle for you.

I am thinking the deposit is pretty small, more of a token than anything.

I am also thinking the poster has a little faith in some of the forum members here, in that if someone volunteers to do it, the poster would be confident and trusting of the assessment, due to being a 4runner enthusiast.

If it were me, I would fly out and see for myself, and drive it back.

Also CO and UT are salt states. Those are gonna be some rusty cars underneath if the lived their lives there.

I have never dealt with them but there's a small dealership in Kansas or Kentucky (edit: Missouri) who deals with off-road specific vehicles. They've had a few real nice cars pop up but I can't remember their name or I'd link the site. Still do your research but they're more likely to get you all

Found it: Adventure Motors Toyota 4runners for sale in Lee's Summit, Missouri 64081

They even take undercarriage pictures of most of their cars

Lived here in colorado my whole life and have been in the automotive repair industry for the last 16 years. I can assure you we are not a rusty salt state

Did you get anyone on the forum to help you? I bought a vehicle off of ebay and couldn't find someone to look at it but I wasn't on the forum at that time

You put a deposit, sight unseen, on a 10+ year old car? Just confirming what I read.

When this thread was started 2 years ago, the car was 8 years old.
