AR-15 Storage in 2019 4Runner

I'm trying to find a discreet way to carry an AR-15 in my 4Runner. I do not have 3rd row seating, and I have not been able to find the gap behind the 2nd row seats everyone talks about. I have checked out some of the other threads on this topic, but I couldn't find a solid answer. Quick access is not an issue for me. I would just like to have a way to store it out of sight without just putting it in a case in the back.

I have some photography tools in a long canvas bag similarly sized to an AR case that hangs just behind/up against the back seats. I used the headrest studs on the top and cargo tie downs just below to stretch the bag pretty taut. ARs are short enough that it would totally work with a rifle bag/case too, and while it wouldn't be 100% invisible with the hatch open, it still blends in really well and I doubt you could see it with everything closed. You could even build a false panel to hide it behind, but I cant think of any better location than that one.

Also worth mentioning is that I have the whole back of the truck with 5% tint applied over the factory tint because I often have a lot of valuable camera gear onboard. The windows are BLACK. If instead I had a resident rifle in the truck I'd do the same. It's only a couple hundred bucks at a local tint shop.

Oh, and the gap everyone talks about is related to the stock cargo cover. There's a gap between it and the back seats to allow for the seats to recline. For your purposes it isn't relevant.

if you place it correctly, one could PROBABLY fit an assembled AR15 with a 6 mag bandolier underneath the 2nd row. One could maybe also fashion kydex sheets to attach to the front of the seat so you can't see what is under it. This is all speculation though.

there certainly doesnt seem to be enough room underneath my 2nd row but would love to see some probably photoshopped pics of those who have probably tried to create a set up

it has to be a pretty standard AR. Nothing creating extra width. Place the stock towards the passenger side with the top of the rifle facing the front about 2 inches from the front of the seat. Keep trying positions that allow the 2nd row to lock back down but it will work if you find the sweet spot.

i mean like 2 months for the form 1 and $200. I wouldn't want to keep mine in my car though in case it gets stolen. Get the cheapest AR you can buy which is like $350 at the moment.

You really can't hide locking storage anywhere in there for a gun that long and you better not have any gun stickers on your truck to make thieves interested in what's inside. I'd get a pistol, break it down, and carry it with you instead of leaving it in your vehicle.

I thought about an AR as a truck gun, but decided on a KelTec Sub2000 instead. The Glock 17/19 models will take the 33rd mags. Because of its folded size will fit any number of discreet cases. Yes it's pistol caliber, but we're talking a truck gun. Sure it's not as ergonomic or powerful as an AR, but I view it akin to carrying a subcompact I can easily conceal versus trying to conceal a 1911.
