Keep in mind many headunits (even OEM) are running Android anyway, it's just a launcher that is already setup for you and keeps your options simple. You can recreate the exact same thing with Agama or Car Launcher Pro on a T9. But I digress...
Does it play flac, does it has a Burr Brown 24 bit DAC? dunno, don't care. lossless audio has no place in non-competitive car audio IMO, the noise floor is just way too high. I stream nearly everything these days from pandora, spotify or amazon with quality set to very-high and I'm happy. YMMV.

some people dont want to spend $500+ on a h/u and disregard sound quality or the fact that its guaranteed to lose support in a short time. good luck with that and ALL the insane troubleshooting. everyone is more than welcome to that. the whole argument is you dont care its a piece of crap cus you want to stream amazon???? every h/u does pandora pretty easily. i use a USB drive cus internet music streaming is for sheep who dont want to find or control what they listen to. im sure china can make a solid unit and that there CAN be companies who care but not anytime soon.

The ones from CTH are fixed I believe. The manufacturer wasn't much help and wanted you to do crazy stuff like pop resistors off a board.

I’m interested in seeing how this unit operates. If you get it installed, post a video of it in action.

Looks like they've been in business about 7-8 years. That means nothing though, look at Audiovox, Jensen, Pyle, Legacy. Been in business for 50+ years and they make garbage. This is just another POS out of China that looks like crap and is likely made in the same facility as the T9 and all the other junk on the market.

Hey man, So I've always been a lurker on the forum. But I was interested in the new headunit so I came across this post. I saw this comment and just felt the need to reply.
I have the most viewed T8/T9 Headunit Review videos on youtube. They never paid me at all to give me review. I actually paid for my own T8 headunit. And my review is super honest. I just wanted a headunit that had apple carplay and this was the one for me. I wanted carplay and it delivered.
The company (cartrimhome) did however send me the T9 unit after making the video for the T8 for free but they never paid me to make a video. I do get paid in commission but literally anyone can do that if they put the time and effort into making a review video about any product.
So yeah, Hello everyone.

Thank you for proving my point. You make a commission from sales. You are not unbiased and anything you sat at this point should be taken with a grain of salt. There's a reason why they specifically targeted you and sent you a T9 unit. You gave them a positive T8 review and they figured you'd be a good person to send their new updated unit to. Your motivation then is to post an even lengthier, well detailed review, and overall positive review of the T9 unit so that 1) you get a commission 2) you get future product consideration. This business model is not new and I'm well aware of the tactics behind it.
I don't resent or hate people that do reviews quid pro quo. If you can make a buck from it then good on you. I just think it muddies the water and is a conflict of interest when you have obligations between the company and your viewers. It can lead to dishonest reviews, product pushing, and dirty tactics. Something viewers or forum members should be aware of. Not all reviews come from an unbiased and objective POV especially if there is some form of incentive. They may not have explicitly paid you to give them a positive review but there is implied incentive to do so, again quid pro quo. You can't and aren't an objective source on the matter if you have direct interest in it which is why everything you say about the T8/9 unit needs to be critically evaluated before anyone believes you.

lol you're the exact person we don't want to listen to for reviews, because you have a vested interest to be bias in favor of the unit. they sent you a free unit AND you get paid in commission for each one your referral code is used for.

The problem is that "reviewer" may not believe that he is biased. He is reading this right now and saying to himself "I'm not biased, how can they say that?" but the fact is, merely accepting the product biases him.
the way our brains work is pretty simple:
We buy a product. Even if there are issues, we justify the purchase to ourselves. Sometimes we need to justify it to others so we write a good review
The manufacturer sends us a gift - often in exchange for "an honest 5 star review". We can do that. Since we didn't pay for it, it goes up in our esteem. We overlook things that we would have complained about had we spent our own money.
We got something for nothing. We should try that again. All we really had to do is give it a decent review. I'll be honest. I can be honest. Then I can do it again and become an Instagram celebrity for my honest reviews.

Hello everyone, I have been looking through the forums for a pretty long time. Yet I dont think i ever posted anything. I came across this thread, and well i feel I have a bit of information about this topic. First I would liek to say I am an imigrant in the usa and with a some what limited budget to modify my car. I am an automotive tech , but i have been modding cars and installing stereos for the past 15 or so years. I also consider my self and afficionado to cunsumer electronics and electricity in general.
So the past 3 months I have indulged my self in the quest for the perfect head unit. My wifes hu died and I decided to give her my pionner dd set up and look for a modern more up to date unit. First as im sure many of you did , I considered big names double dins, then went onto looking at the halo 9. How ever the price was a big factor for me. Also i briefly looked at oem units but the price and lack of functions scared me away. I then started playing with the idea of a tablet connected through a blue tooth or maybe a carputer ( which no one , installs now a days). After writing down my necesities and wants of a head unit. I arrive at the ever so popular t8. Well after researching into it. I though the price was not worth a no name product and the obiously all the issues that came with it. I then started looking into the 13inch no name and various 10 inch brands of android HU ( all from china). Well after researching my options I ended up with 3 finalists. The dasaita head units, car trims t9 and the alibaba 13 inch tesla style radio. I made paper cut outs of 8, 10 and 13 inch screens to see what would fit better with our blocking much and which could turn....... then the sounds quality and reverse camera speed came..... at the end I had two finalists the t9 and the dasaita 10.2 inch px6 . After digging even deeper and looking at every video youtube had to offer about both, I came to the concluision that the dasaita gave me a bigger screen and more bang for my buck. It even had better customer support as well as a longer history making head units.
Now when the package arrived I was not suprised by the some what unpolished product. I have ordered tons of things from china and have a pretty good idea of their manufacturing. I installed everything and well the product is decent. It does have glitches here and there. But nothing uncomon of head units. Ive had similar issues with kenwood and pioneer and even had 2 or 3 big brand units die on me after 2 or 3 years. So now that i have installed the px6 I can say:
The head unit does everything is supoosed to and more. Is a big step up from a factory unit and pretty fun to play arround with. Does it have issues? Of course!!! Some people hate the logo(put a toyota sticker over it) , the leds are blue.. ( I could re solder red ones) , the leds bleed a bit into the screen ( Im too busy driving to care or even notice.
So in short for the money it is a good unit. So for last why did go ever the px6 if thats not even the unit the thread is about. Well my thinking is the following:
I purchased the dasaita px6 because I wanted to get a feeling of the brand and the product. Because lately is har to get a decent review online, I had to shell out the money to test the unit, and then sell it as used. Why you may ask? Because although i love the huge screen on the unit. I feel like the oem look is a bitter fot for my life style. I tend travel to places where there is a bit of crime, so a hu sticking out my dash is begging someone to break a window just to Steal the radio. Also my vents get a bit covered by the screen.
So I say in my mind the head unit that will give you the best bang for your buck would be the Dasaita unit for the 2010_2020 toyota 4runner.
Ps. For all those users concern about the sound quality. I do think this unit has better sound that the stock hu. How ever been realistic, between my offroad tires, the wind noise of my gobi rack, the wind deflectors and the solid rear on our trucks. The driving noise does not allow you to fully apreciate a perfectly tuned and awsome sounding stereo.
Just my 2 centavos!

No, they haven't. Mine is only one month old, and the whine is loud and irritating. I haven't had time to open my dash up again to adjust the pot. It gets louder with my headlights on and the screen dims.
They have been having issues lately now with boot lockups to the logo, or boot loops from this new batch. Would I do it again? Probably not.

I’ve decided I’m ditching my t9. Too many bugs worth the units still. Oh well.
