The VIN on my 2015 Toyota 4Runner Limited (Made in Dec 2014) is on the recall list, my local Toyota dealer has the parts, with install scheduled for August 12, 2020.
Since the alleged problem is low fuel pump pressure, how can one check the fuel pressure on a 5th Gen 4Runner? Most GM vehicles have a Schrader valve located on top of the fuel injector rail that a pressure gauge can be connected to. My 2015 Toyota 4Runner has none.

I have not heard that, what I have heard is low-pressure fuel pump failure.
Toyota Fuel Pump Recall Isn't Adequate, Alleges Lawsuit | CarComplaints.com
As if there may be two fuel pumps, with the low-pressure pump subject to failure. Or maybe it's a two-stage design.

Seemed everything went well, they had a few before me to learn on. Not sure how long it took as I dropped the truck in the morning and took a loaner car. But, from the time I dropped it until I received a call it was ready was about 4 hours.

Thanks!
So it probably only took 2 or so not that you'd get it that quick if you waited on it.

On the bright side, they're giving me a free rental during the event, so make sure you ask about that!

I finally got my fuel tank down to about 1/8th and called the service dept direct to see if they had the pump before I scheduled. She said they are getting the pumps delivered in batches and are scheduling by call back only. That's what I was hoping to hear so at least I know they WILL have it in hand when I drop it off. She also said I was the first person she talked to that asked the in stock question before scheduling.
So now I wait for a phone call.

Picking up my ‘14 in a little while. They called and said fuel pump install and state inspection are done. (2 hr time to complete) passed with no issues.

Anyone has had the fuel pump recall done in the North Houston/Spring/The Woodlands/Conroe area along the I45 corridor? Would appreciate your sharing your dealer repair experience.

I'd think it would depend on whether you were crawling down BlackBear in CO or tooling down the highway with a nice shoulder.
From what I read, it seems like there would first be symptoms of fuel starvation with some limited power left with the engine loosing fuel a few minutes later. Just like a badly clogged fuel filter on an older vehicle would act.
I'm still waiting on a callback to tell me they have them in stock and set a date. They seem to be pretty hammered.

Had mine done last week. Took almost exactly the 4 hours they estimated. Haven't noticed anything amiss yet.

Dealer experience was the same as always but we managed to get in/out and not murder anyone so I guess that’s good. They turned the fuel pump and oil change around in 4 hours.
Drove it 2-3 hours north to East Tennessee and home a few days later with no issues aside from not finding 4LO territory like I had wanted. Oh well. There’s always the next weekend.

Finally got mine in to mountain states Toyota in Denver after waiting 3 weeks for parts / an appointment. It took them right around 4 hours with an oil change/rotate.
I was pretty happy with the experience and peace of mind driving around again. I accidentally brought mine in with half a tank and they returned it to me with the same amount so guess I got lucky there.

I take back everything I said, Check engine light and Trac Off light came on the dash after my fuel pump replacement. Getting error codes P0441 & P0455 both related to evaporative emissions system leaks. Going back to the dealership tomorrow and yes I checked the gas cap. Fckn Dealrships...

This is the kind of thing that makes me not want to bother with it until/unless the pump actually fails. Not happy with the airbag recall (they did crap work, left wiring hanging down in front of cabin air filter box - they did fix it when I brought it to their attention, but I suspect they just half-ass stuffed/taped them up where I couldn't see them. Hope it works if, God forbid, we ever actually NEED the air bag to function).
I have confidence in Toyota overall from the factory, not so much the average Toyota dealership mechanic. In fact, make that pretty much ANY mechanic these days. It's been a long time since I've been to a shop that does quality work.
My 4R is now 6 years old and has 49,000 miles. If the pump was going to fail, or was a faulty part, wouldn't it have given me problems by now?
