I’ve had the recall notice sitting for 6 months on my counter for my 2014 trail. Called Roseville Toyota last month and made an appointment 1 week out for a 7:30 drop off got it back that day at 12pm. I even accidentally left 3/4 tank in it and got it back with 3/4 tank. Roseville Toyota has room and seems to move quick if you’re in Northern Ca.

Did they drop your tank or cut a hole in your floor?

How are you guys getting loan vehicles? Was told by the service department that the recall doesn't fall under the loaner program?

Was in for service yesterday and they asked if I wanted the repair done right then. I couldn't make it work, but they didn't hesitate to offer a loaner.

I got notified that the dealer had the parts for the recall. It goes in next Wed. I'll get a loaner car but they said it will only take 3 to 4 hours. I'm just hoping they don't screw anything up, I don't have much faith in dealerships.

This was for the Takata air bag recall a long time ago and still on going.
https://www.blumenthal.senate.gov/im...r%20Report.pdf
As for the fuel pump the notice provided by Toyota to NHTSA says Dealers can submit for $$$$ to Toyota corporate for loaner costs associated with recall repair.
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...0V012-3930.pdf
Here in SF Bay Area, it seems the dealers are using Tacoma's as loaners. All SR or SR5 trim levels (automatic of course because USA). My asumption is because Tacomas fly off the lot and hold value regardless of mileage. So the dealer can sell a loaner vehicle for basically full MSRP. So make bank on the $$$ coming back from Toyota Corporate for loaner, then make $$$ again when they sell a "DEMO" at full MSRP to a customer. I think also there is a surchage/upcharge on alll SUVs and Trucks for Toyota right now.

If your on the list call the dealer, they just got to the 4runners in their phased recall the beginning of April. Took them 2hours.

Loaner vehicles are entirely dependent on the dealer, not on Toyota. It's a dealer expense to provide them, which is offset by theoretically higher customer satisfaction. Toyota has no obligation to provide loaners.

Yep. I monitored remedy status on the Toyota Onwer's website. It came up available for my 2019 last week. I called my dealer same day. It goes in for a new pump tomorrow morning.

I'm right there with ya. I don't really want them to do it, in all honesty, especially with my aftermarket gas tank skid that they have to take off. I'm gonna check before leaving that they actually reinstalled it properly. I mean, it's no different from the stock skid mounting, but still...

I'm taking my aftermarket skid off before going in. If they can't do an oil change without stripping bolts on a 4-bolt skid plate, there is no way I'm trusting them with the gas skid which is more complicated ...

Got a call on Monday that I was on the list for the fuel pump recall and they had a spot for me on April 26 if I wanted to accept it. I said sure! So I'm set to have the fuel pump replaced in 12 days.

Just adding this for another data point. I dropped mine off this morning. No loaner. Service manager read that document back to me, pointing out the "interim" provision, saying they can only bill Toyota for loaner cost reimbursement when there is a failure before a remedy is available for a particular vehicle.
Update: 4 hours in and out, no drama.
