Nope. Not I, I had my done. I live in California. It's 93F outside, I do not park in the garage. My 2015 starts every single time. I'd take it back and press the situation and ask for a senior tech to diagnose and involve Toyota Regional support.

Which toyota dealership did you go to? I live in vegas and haven't done mine yet.

Made my appointment for the fuel pump recall and they can do it finally.
Glad i have one of the few good dealers. They appreciate there mechanics so they told me that i should bring it in with less than 1/2 a tank of gas.

OK, question, one; has ANYONE actually had a fuel pump fail? I realize that some have had problems after the recall has been completed dew to poor workmanship (not replacing "O" rings and gaskets). Question two; how long have you waited for the recall work to be completed once you brought the truck in?
Had an appointment today and the "service writer" said it would be 5 hours. I was expecting 2 to 3 hours. Two recalls. Fuel pump and "collision avoidance". To the best of my knowledge, I don't have TSS, I have TSC. Are they gonna put radar on my '19? Don't think so. Needless to say, I wasn't sittin' there for 5 hours. Rescheduled. BTW, they are the ONLY dealer in Central Oregon and I don't want my TSC upgraded.

they have to drain the fuel, remove the skid plate, drop the tank, replace seals/orings, then raise tank back up, fill it with gasoline. Not sure if you need to prime the system. Check for leaks. Test drive I would assume.
Service advisor had said 3 hours for me. I said um... sure... i'll take the loaner. Took them whole day, I dropped it off at 9am and picked it up 8am next day.

Wasn't offered a "loaner" but a shuttle. They ain't shuttlein' me 32+ miles back and forth. Anyways, my partner will follow me back down Tuesday.
Will definitely challenge the "collision avoidance" recall. I don't have it on my '19. Wish sales people and service writers would learn their ****ing vehicles. As many 'Runners that there are up here, you'd think they could have learned how to handle this problem and schedule appointments to lessen inconvenience to LOYAL customers.

When the recall first happened Toyota even allowed 120days worth of loaner vehicles for customers/owners who felt uncomfortable with driving a car that might suddenly stall.

All the dealers in my area offer loaners for warranty work free of charge, and $35 per day for non warranty work.
For the recall since I did it while in covid lockdown conditions they said I could even have them pick it up via tow truck and returned via tow truck. But I wouldn't be offered a loaner. So I dropped it off in person and got a brand new Tacoma as a loaner for a day.

Had mine done a few weeks ago. Took 4 hours and then they let me have it. A few days later, engine light came on... Evap leak. Had to take it back. They redid the process just not the actually replacement of the part again. No issues since. Can't tell a difference at this point. I really don't like recalls being done, but this one had the potential to strand me in the middle of no where off road. I guess it was worth it?

I did mine a few weeks ago. I was nice to leave the tank almost empty with like 19 miles till empty. They gave it back to me with like 14 miles till empty like 5 hours later.... they should have filled it up.

I had exactly the same issue. Pump replaced in February. Last month I noticed hard starting. Then dash lights. Took it back to dealer and yep bad o ring. Which they didn't have. I did get and Avalon v-6 for a few days.

This failure after the fuel pump recall seems to be happening often.
For anyone going in for the recall work it would be a good idea to discuss this with the service manager when you drop it off and remind them of the o-ring issue. There’s something the dealerships are doing wrong like not using a new o-ring or hurrying and doing a crappy job where it gets tweaked and loses the seal. Typical dealer workmanship.
Any any case, make sure you don’t immediately go on a long road trip, allow some shakedown test time.

Got mine done with an oil change this week in NJ. No issues to report. The dealer said they had not seen anybody that was actually affected by a bad pump. However, they have swapped thousands of fuel pumps at this point. The techs like it because its an easy 3 hours of work to bill and can do them in their sleep.

Who else is affected by the fuel pump recall but are apprehensive to make appointment because of the O-ring issue? It seems most owners notice the O-ring issue within the first week or so, and another posted in this thread they did not run into the O-ring issue until several months had past. Given the increased importance of the O-ring for the recall, perhaps Toyota will be communicating an important "awareness" to their shops to take note of the O-ring - or even better yet, include a new O-ring with the recall service.
